EnviroTex Resin Key Chain

Jan 2, 2013

I created this key chain for my sister, Belinda. It was created in memory of my brother, Richard who passed away from alcoholism, March 28, 2004. He loved the water and worked on a boat off the Gulf of Mexico. I found this image of the anchor by doing a google search and the quote from Quote Garden. I had Alan resize the image for me to fit inside the bezel then printed it out on my laser printer. Next, I applied Nunn Design Glue on the bezel and placed the image on top, pressing the bubbles out from underneath the image as best I could using my finger and paint brush for the corners. Once I felt I got all the bubbles out, using a paint brush I applied a layer of Nunn...

Owl Charms

Dec 31, 2012

My sister, Belinda has a serious love of owls. She likes the fun whimsical style so I thought I would create a few charms for her to wear. I printed off some owl images using my laser printer then cut them to fit the bezels shown above. Using a paint brush I applied Nunn Design Glue inside each bezel then placed the image on top of the glue pressing down with my finger to make sure I removed any air bubbles. Then I applied a layer of the glue on top of each image, letting it dry completely then applied another layer of glue. Once dry I accented the images with Diamond Stickles. After the Stickles dried I applied Judi Kins Gel du Soleil and used a Judi Kins UV Lamp. This product is different than...

Merry Christmas

Dec 25, 2012

I hope you and your family are all enjoying a wonderful holiday season. I certainly do wish you all the very best and happiest of holidays. Now that everyone has opened their gifts I can finally share all the projects I created this Christmas to give to my family. Today’s canvas was my gift to my dad. As you all know he is Santa and has quite a collection of Santa’s so I thought I would add to it. I’m happy to report Santa’s sitting in his recliner with his feet up and a tummy full of milk and cookies resting from all his travels during the night. I really did have a lot of fun creating this 4″ x 4″ canvas for dad. I  tried hard to make each gift I create personal....

Three Simple Words

Nov 17, 2012

It’s amazing the amount of power words have when you really think about it. I’m sure we can all remember a moment when an unkind word was said to us on the playground, or whispers in the hall in school. I know I can. Sadly, it’s during those years that we really don’t know the power those words spoken have on a person. It’s so easy to remember the negative as I guess those are the ones that impact us and hurt us the most. The negative words are the first ones which creep up on us instead of the kind, they are the ones that I and I’m sure you, always have to push back down. So today, my wish is that we all give hope, courage and love to a stranger, a...

Texas Big + Funky = My Kinda Charm

Oct 31, 2012

Oh goodness where do I start to tell you about this charm. I had so much fun making it but darn 4 days to complete something is a LONG time for me. Patience is not my best character trait but I did it and it was well worth being patient. I used EnviroTex Resin, made my round bezel by free forming some copper metal , then used lots of Nunn Design Metal Embellishments, vintage buttons, an old metal key, rhinestones, beads and trims. Day 1 I attached a piece of patterned paper to the front and back of the round chipboard piece using Nunn Design Glue. Once the glue was dry I sealed the chipboard circle using Nunn Design Sealant on the front, back and edges of the chipboard piece. I applied the sealant three...

UTEE, Resin & Sculpey Clay Charms

Oct 30, 2012

I’ve had so much fun this past week experimenting with UTEE, Resin and Sculpey Clay. At the moment it’s a charm paradise in my craftroom. The acorn charm is made from UTEE. I hunted all over my backyard for the perfectly shaped acorn so I could make a mold of it. I found one and think this charm came out so cute. The top of the acorn is the actual acorn top I glittered and attached to the UTEE acorn. I covered the entire acorn with a thin layer of resin. The bird charm is created out of Sculpey Clay, embossed with a Melt Art Texture Tread, painted and covered with a thin layer of resin. The always be amazing charm is created using Sculpey Clay, resin paper butterflies, glass glitter and topped with...

EnviroTex Jewelry Resin

Oct 23, 2012

I’ve been wanting to play with resin for a long time and finally just took the time to do it and I LOVE it. Mind you these are no where amazing compared to what is out there to be found but I am happy with my first attempts. I did learn a few things in the process that I will share with you in hopes you will not make the same errors I did. Although, things are going to happen that you might not like as you learn, just accept it but then again it goes both ways… you might discover something you really like too. I was worried about a heavy chemical smell and was happy to discover that EnviroTex had no smell at all. So I could check this worry off my...
