These things make me smile…

Aug 19, 2010

I thought I would show you a few more things from around my scraproom. I just love old and new mixed together… although what I am going to be showing is mostly old… also, I find it fun to decorate my scraproom with items I have found with other people while digging in antique stores or thrift shops… makes me think of them a lot when I use the products I have stored in dishes etc. I have used these two candle holders for years to fill with candy hearts for Valentines Day or snow for Christmas but now they will be filled with vintage buttons of every kind. Oh how these make me happy sitting right on my worktable at arms reach. I always think of me and dad scooping out and counting ...

Sweet Treat Cup

Mar 23, 2010

Crepe paper and pipe cleaners… can it get much sweeter? For me, no. Here is a treat cup tutorial that will fit on an Easter tree if you shorten the handle a bit from what is shown here. Or you could score major brownie points by placing one of these little cuties on your co-workers desk filled with a few candy eggs, a chocolate Easter bunny, wrapped in cellophane and tied with a seam binding bow. You could also make several and use them as placecards for an Easter brunch. Pure sweetness I think. Supplies Used: White Nut & Party Cups (can be found in the Cake Section of large craft stores), Pink Crepe Paper Streamer, Maya Road Pink Ruffle Edge Trim, Jenni Bowlin Pink Embellished Butterflies, Fabri-Tac, Embroidery Floss (any light color as...

My Baby is Here!

Feb 2, 2010

And finally I get to show her off. I now know how an elephant feels being pregnant for two years… poor things. Two years is a very long time when you are waiting for something awesome. So here is the front and back covers (still cannot believe these photos were taken on my table) and sneak peeks of a few of the 100 projects inside. 12 Day Advent Pocket Calendar #6

Dec 7, 2009

We are so close to finishing up this 12 Day Advent Pocket Calendar. I find this a fun way to keep the holidays going during Ansley’s winter break and it helps with the sting of having to go back to school… just a little something to look forward to each day after Christmas.  And I decided to give you a peek at how I am arranging the pockets. This is far from being finished as I need to add some trim and other embellishments but at least this way you can see the method to my madness. Just two empty spots left to fill. I love how today’s pocket worked out… the little jester doll looks as though he is throwing a snowball.. too cute! Stamp image onto heavy weight white cardstock, ink on...

For the next several weeks I will be posting 12 altered pockets that when finished and put together will create a 12 Day Advent Pocket Style Calendar. I hope you decide to play along as you too will end up with an adorable calendar. I already stamped my images and accented my Fragments Charms so which ever charm pocket I feel like working on and finishing that day is the one you will see the next. It...
