CHA-W 2013 ~ W should stand for Whirlwind
CHA~W was a whirlwind for sure. There were so many exciting things to see and do I have no idea where to start. To me CHA is like a mini reunion, it’s always wonderful seeing old friends and making new ones. Below are the adorable make n takes Caroline designed for me to teach each day of the show. I love that she always has a different one each day. And can you believe some attendees have created every make n take I’ve done with Maya Road since my first show with them in 2007.
The Maya Road make n takes were so popular that each day by 1:00 we finished all we had prepared and had to scramble to come up with a new one. My table is always crazy with a line of people eager to create.
I did a video for Maya Road with Craft Time TV showing how to recreate the flower necklace above. Once I know when it’s scheduled to air I’ll let you know.
After taping my video I had to get a photo with the awesome video crew and Sandy Sandler the Station Manager for Craft Time TV as they were so much fun. I hope to work with Sandy in the future and believe me I will keep you posted. As I mentioned on FaceBook a few weeks ago… I have ideas and come hell or high water, this year I’m making them happen. Make sure to follow Craft Time TV on FaceBook HERE to keep up to date on everything that is going on.
Each night, leaving the convention center I saw some of the most incredible sunsets. This photo is straight from my cell phone… no filter was used. I’ve never seen a sunset as pretty as this one. And goodness I have to admit it was CHILLY WILLY in Anaheim this trip. I am never one to say I’m cold but dang, I got so cold during set up that once we got back to the hotel I had to take a hot bath to warm up. I think Ronda, Caroline and Laura were in a bit of a shock to see and hear such a thing from me.
Saturday, before my book signing with F+W Media I did a demo using alcohol inks and other products to create the cute little embellishment shown above. It’s perfect to use on a card so I’ll post the tutorial this week. It’s a fun one. The book I am signing above is for one lucky reader at Scrap n’ Art Online Magazine.
Sunday, I had fun doing a book signing with R+M West Coast Distributor, Inc. Gail is always so much fun. I love seeing her at the show. Thanks, Laura for taking this photo. I always forget to have someone take photos for me of me.
After the show Sunday evening, Caroline and I met Laura and her beautiful daughter, Victoria for dinner at the Cheesecake Factory. It was fun catching up with them and talking about all the exciting events she has planned and the fun we had during her Bellagio Retreat this past September. Laura only has a few spots left in her Bellagio, Italy Creative Retreat this June. You do not want to miss this event.
Each night it was always fun chatting about the day and just hanging out with the Maya Road gang. Not sure where, Angella, Ronda and Emily were when this photo was taken… actually I think Emily took this photo. Who knows as CHA is such a whirlwind. I’m truly blessed to be a part of the Maya Road family. I love their products and I love them!
I was so happy to have Angela Daniels (the hardest working crafter at CHA) come by and clean up my make n take table while I sat and checked Facebook on the last day of the show. She is awesome like that you know. If you don’t already follow her on Facebook you can friend her HERE. She is a hoot.
After break down on the last day we always go eat at Tortilla Jo’s in Downtown Disney. It’s a great place to eat and gosh do we ever laugh. We were all sad knowing Angella was heading back to Aussie land the next day. She is awesome.
And my Traveling Apron visited a new state… I love adding to the list. Next month, I get to add Ohio. Now t’s back to book projects for me… 25 done 15 to go. I’m almost there.
Creative Hugs!
