Stopping to Smell the Flowers

Aug 15, 2012

For the next 10 days I am going to do my best to unwind. Those of you who know me, know I’m wound up tighter than an 8 day clock. Well, for the next 10 days, I’m determined to unwind and not think of my “To-Do List” that is waiting for me when I get home. Although, just typing the words “To-Do List” makes my inner 8 day clock wind up. Yikes! Anyway, back to the unwinding… Yesterday, I started my day looking at this view. As my niece Madelyn calls these days… “It was a Bluebird Kinda Day”. There were hardly a cloud in the sky and it was blue, blue, blue.

Yesterday, mom, dad and I drove around and did a little antiquing. I found some really awesome things for classes and cannot wait to show you… super excited! While in downtown Buckhannon we saw so many beautiful flower beds, flower boxes, hanging baskets and potted plants. At every turn we saw something blooming. I so miss seeing flowers like these in Texas. The summer heat just does not allow them to bloom or survive (if in my yard) as they do here.

My cousin’s yard is filled with beautiful flowers too… each little spot of their yard has something blooming and they are all old fashioned type flowers… my favorite.

I ended the day waiting for the deer and turkey to come eat and they did not disappoint… it’s nice to see wildlife right in the backyard.

I’m not sure what adventures are on the schedule for today, but I’ll share them with you all tomorrow. Today, my word for the day is “Relax”. We’ll see how well it goes.
