Dream Tag

Aug 9, 2012

Here is a fun tag to create that is filled with all kinds of little techniques that are perfect to use on other projectsl. I started with a plain manila office tag and covered it with vintage ledger paper. Next, using the Maya Road Ornate Frames stamp set and Jet Black Archival Ink, I stamped the frame images onto the ledger paper. Next I took the new Maya Road Floral Garden Fabric Tape and filled the inside area of the frames. I then accented the flowers with Diamond Stickles and let it dry. Once dry, I covered the Fabric Tape with Glossy Accents and let it dry. Make sure you have a pin handy to pop any air bubbles that occur.

Here is a little tip: I like to leave the stamps on the acetate piece just as they come packaged and use the entire stamp set as a background stamp. No need for an acrylic block, just ink, stamp and go.

I then inked the Dream and Go stamps from the Maya Road Art Journaling Words stamp set using Jet Black Archival Ink and stamped the words onto the tag as shown in the photo above.

Next came the really fun part… glittering the bird. I used a Maya Road Metallic Blue 1″ Ink Pad and inked the entire wooden Maya Road Vintage Bird. I then applied Glossy Accents over the entire top of the bird and poured glass glitter on  top creating a mound of glitter on the bird. Using tweezers I picked up the bird and gently tapped off the excess glass glitter. I attached the altered Vintage Bird onto the tag using a foam square.

To complete the tag I attached a piece of Maya Road Floral Garden Fabric Tape to the bottom portion of the tag. I trimmed the top edge of the fabric tape using Scallop Scissors. I then attached a strip of Maya Road Tu-Tu Vintage Beige Tulle and a strip of Maya Road Vintage Jewel Iridescent Diamond Rhinestone Trim at the bottom, attached a piece of Brown Latte Twine Cording to the top for the hanger and accented the edges of the tag using Platinum Stickles.

There ya have it… a finished tag perfect to accent any gift or frame to hang as a small home decor piece.
