Art of Layers Blog Hop

Mar 21, 2012

Welcome to the Art of Layers Blog Hop… you should have just come from Julie Fei-Fan Balzer’s blog and hopefully left a comment for a chance to win an autographed copy of Ronda’s new book “Art of Layers”. To increase your odds of winning an autographed copy make sure you leave a comment on my blog post before Sunday, March 25th at 7pm CDT. A winner will be picked Sunday, evening and announced on my blog Monday, March 26th. Good Luck!

Ronda’s altered sewing trinket box is featured on the cover of her book and can be found in Chapter 1 ~ Paper. As you can see it is filled with lots of tiny vintage finds which I love tremendously. To me there is nothing more enjoyable than digging around in thrift stores, antique shops and/or flea markets for little baubles to embellish and accent a project.

I think F+W Media explained what you’ll find in Ronda’s book better than I can so I copied their description and posted it below.

“Basic scrapbooking has you place photos and embellishments on cardstock or patterned paper – easy and…well, basic. The next step for most scrapbookers is layering. But trying to get that rich, interesting layered look can be very intimidating. Where do you even start? “Art of Layers” teaches scrapbookers and beginning mixed media artists just how easy it is to get to that layered look in any papercrafting project. Author Ronda Palazzari teaches readers 50+ techniques that will serve as tools to pull out whenever a layered look is desired. The chapters allow the reader to build their skills, from paper techniques they won’t be afraid to try adding fabric, embellishments, and stamping to finally giving spray inks, paints and gesso a try.”

If you are not picked as one of the ELEVEN blog hop winners and your local scrapbook store does not carry Ronda’s book Art of Layers” you can order it HERE from Amazon.

Now, head on over to Nathalie Kalbach’s blog, Nathalie’s Studio and leave a comment for a chance to win there as well.

Creative Hugs!
