Washing, Packing and a little Panicking…

Jan 20, 2010

Tomorrow I leave bright and early for CHA and I can’t wait to get on that plane as then all the preparations are out of my hands. It will be time to just roll with the flow and accept what comes my way. Oh I hope I can do this gracefully. So today is filled with washing and packing and praying everything fits in my suitcase. I always wonder what the xray guys think when they see my suitcase… hmm what in the world is this thing? I’m sure my “Crop-a-dile” really blows their minds. Then I have my big honkin Fiskar scallop and pinking scissors. Can you imagine being the guy xraying the suitcases and having no clue about all the different tools in the craft industry. I bet they really don’t like...

Canvas Sampler…

Jan 19, 2010

This canvas sampler was created using a page from the new Maya Road Canvas Frayed Edge Triangle Banner. I trimmed the edges using scallop scissors. I cut the burlap piece then stitched the items onto it before I attached it to the canvas banner page. This way you don’t see the stitching and the back of the banner page looks clean. I covered a Mini Kraft Tag with vintage sheet music then accented it using the new Brown Scallop Trim and a vintage button. The center of the Cream Medallion Flower is accented with Diamond Stickles. I attached the words cut from a book page to the back of a Dangling Chandelier Bead using Glossy Accents. Such a simple technique that creates quite an impact on a bead. To see the last day of...

Home Sweet Home…

Jan 18, 2010

Sneak Peeks for Day 4 are ya ready? Look at this sweet new stamp set. It is called Our Town. This stamp set includes 12 houses in various sizes and the words Home and Sweet. I misted the new Deborah mini alphas with Bronze Maya Mist and outlined them using a Black Jelly Roll Pen. You get 65 letters that range in size from 0.6″ to 1.2″. The base of this tag is a page from the new Modern Label Chipboard Coaster. You get six pages on a chain and the first page is embossed. I accented the tag using a new Crystal Pin (60 per pack) and a Dangling Chandelier Bead (3 different sizes and over 70 per pack). These flowers are the new Brown & Cream Ruffle Blossoms. You get 8 blossoms...

New Products I love…

Jan 16, 2010

Since Maya Road sneak peeks will continue Monday I thought I would show you a few products already revealed that I really love. I love how gorgeous this Red Medallion Flower accented with a Crystal and Vintage Black Pearl Pin looks next to an Uppercase Philadelphia Chipboard letter that is altered with fine silver german glass glitter. You can bet I will be tinting some Crystal Pins with my copic markers or alcohol inks using this Tim’s cool fillable pen in the near future. I love how cute this heart and arrow from the Love Mini Chipboard Set looks altered with vintage sheet music and fine silver german glass glitter. It is attached to one of the Mixed Scallop Triangle Banners from the Mini Set. And I think this button from the Mini Button...

New Maya Road Metallic Ink Colors…

Jan 14, 2010

You are going to LOVE the new Maya Road metallic inkpads… the coverage is incredible, the colors are great and I am so in love. But what is new right.… I know I always say I am in love when it comes to Maya Road but it is true. I don’t say it unless I mean it and I really do feel you are going to LOVE these new Inkpads just as much as I do. The inspiration behind this tag comes from a piece of Pennsylvania Dutch Folk Art I saw online… when I saw it the tulips on the piece reminded me of some chipboard pieces in the Maya Road Damask Chipboard Sheet, well one thing led to another and here you have it… my tag version of Pennsylvania Dutch Folk Art....

Let the sneak peeks begin…

Jan 13, 2010

Oh how I love being on the Maya Road design team especially this time of year when I get to play with all their new release products. Here is a project I created using lots of new Maya Road products. This sweet banner will be displayed in my scraproom and certainly in a spot so that I can see it all the time. I just love it. I colored the Maya Road Hanging Chandelier Beads using a Copic Marker (Sand E33) and I embossed the Chipboard Buttons using my Cuttlebug and the French Script Embossing Folder. New Release Products Skinny House Button Mini Set Butterflies Mini Set Hearts Trinket Pins Leaf (Brown) Trinket Pins Mini Wave Mauve Trim Charcoal Ink Pad Pink Ink Pad And I am so in love with the new Butterflies...

Cupid’s Workshop is available…

Jan 8, 2010

For those of you that might have missed my “Cupid’s Workshop” last year it is available now. The cost for this workshop is $14.95. Like all my other workshops these projects have been designed so you can use products you may already have on hand or exactly as I have created mine since a complete supply list and step by step instructions are provided for each of the 8 projects. Some projects you will need to purchase a few items if you want them to be just like mine. But most of the products you do need to purchase are inexpensive. It’s a miracle…

Jan 7, 2010

Most of you know I have a serious time getting my Christmas tree taken down and put back up in the attic before spring and the layout below which I created a while back is proof. Well yesterday was an all time first. I actually got all the holiday decorations boxed up, the tree taken down AND put back into the attic. Seriously, I am so proud of myself as this was a true accomplishment. And needing to finish up CHA projects is a HUGE motivator. This girl is behind and needs to kick it in gear big time. I have so many little things that turn into slightly bigger things to take care of before the show. One thing is getting book projects (layouts, cards and tags) into 4 — American Crafts Modern...

Chili anyone?

Jan 3, 2010

A few weeks ago my friend Rachael shared a Weight Watchers chili recipe that was so yummy. We have already had it twice. Well I was going to make some last night and totally messed up the grocery list. When Alan got back with what I sent him for I quickly realized I sent him on a wild goose hunt so I decided to just add what he bought and see what happened. Oh and I should tell you he had to go back to get 2 cans of diced tomatoes because I forgot to put them on the list… mind you I was reading the darn recipe as I was making the list. Not sure where my head was with this task but it clearly was not with making a list this is...
