Watching a Dream Come True

Jan 24, 2013

It was so awesome to walk into The Crafter’s Workshop booth at CHA and see the new stencil line designed by my friend Ronda Palazzari. After CHA summer Ronda spoke about ideas she had for her own stencil line and by golly, I’m thrilled to see her Dream Came True. What Ronda creates with her stencils is beyond amazing. Below are links to all the stencil projects she created and blogged about as each stencil made it’s public debut. You have to look at every single one. I tell ya, it’s pure eye candy. Kaleidoscope Urban Landscape Subway Honeycomb Picture Perfect Pie Chart Confetti Quatrefoil This layout is just one of the many favorite projects I love that Ronda created. Stencil Pop Art

Sep 29, 2011

I finally finished my “Pop Art” portrait version of Ansley. Julie Fei-Fan Balzer calls this stencil Summer and since she did create the stencil she has every right to name it Summer but honestly, I think she needs to re-name it Ansley as it looks so much like her. I plan on doing a mini workshop in my Tips, Techniques and Tutorials online workshop explaining how I created this “Pop Art” portrait. Creating the dimension in her hair and facial features as well as picking out funky paint colors was really fun. If you’re already registered for this workshop I plan on starting the tutorial, next week. I think it will be a fun change from the other projects posted. You never know you might like painting with bright colors as much as I...

Stepping out of your comfort zone…

Sep 2, 2011

How many of you fear stepping out of your comfort zone? I know I am raising my hand high in the air on this one. I am so guilty of sticking with what I know how to do and not venturing out of my comfort zone. When it comes to creating I love playing with vintage finds and textiles, beautiful ecru, black and shabby chic colors. I can promise you the first few items I grab for are not stencils, modeling paste or Twinkling H2O’s… they are more like Diamond Stickles, sewing needles, embroidery floss and vintage, vintage and more vintage embellishments. WELL, let me just tell ya, this week I’ve been dabbling with a 7″ x 9″ canvas that is WAY FAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRRR out of my comfort zone we’re talking bright colors, stencils and...
