Happy Valentine’s Day!

Feb 14, 2010

Little Red Wagon is one of my all time favorite stamp sets by Pink Persimmon. You will find a tag I created using this stamp set on page 66 in my book Delight In The Details. And the above card is a card I created last year (which just happens to be my all time favorite Valentine’s Day card) if it looks familiar to my long time blog readers. If you are new to my blog you can learn how to recreate this card here. I have been busy creating some adorable vintage inspired Easter Ornaments that can be used as either ornaments, tags or accents on a spring garland. This class will be taught in the morning on March 6th at Crop, Paper, Scissors in Waco. And the cool thing is you will...

Washing, Packing and a little Panicking…

Jan 20, 2010

Tomorrow I leave bright and early for CHA and I can’t wait to get on that plane as then all the preparations are out of my hands. It will be time to just roll with the flow and accept what comes my way. Oh I hope I can do this gracefully. So today is filled with washing and packing and praying everything fits in my suitcase. I always wonder what the xray guys think when they see my suitcase… hmm what in the world is this thing? I’m sure my “Crop-a-dile” really blows their minds. Then I have my big honkin Fiskar scallop and pinking scissors. Can you imagine being the guy xraying the suitcases and having no clue about all the different tools in the craft industry. I bet they really don’t like...

CHA Workshop… hope to see you there!

Dec 11, 2009

I am thrilled to be able to teach a workshop at CHA this year. F & W Media asked me to create a project using techniques taught in my book “Delight In The Details” which will be released at the show. Of course I was thrilled to have been asked and certainly accepted the opportunity. I will only be teaching this workshop once and I kept it small… only 50 people as I really like to be able to interact with as many people one on one as possible. I will also share a few make n takes that you can easily recreate in your store. Just a little added bonus in the class. I will have instructions available via email in PDF form for those stores that are present. Below is a sneak...

You will find, cards, tags, layouts, mini albums, banners, wall hangings and of course a few home decor pieces. All the projects have my signature vintage flare and I would say it is safe to say it certainly has something for everyone. So there you have it. My baby in all her glory. Some explaining to do…

Mar 5, 2009

Right now if there were a contest for the worst blogger I would win hands down. But I really do have good reasons… The entire week of Feb. 16th I was swamped with book projects and last minute details for my upcoming photo shoot in Cincinnati, OH.  So that week was a total blur of creative frenziness. Feb. 22nd I flew to Cincinnati to work with Christine Polomsky the photographer for F & W Publications. Talk about a wonderful experience. If you have a book idea I 100% recommend you send a proposal to this company. Everyone I came in contact with was wonderful and on top of every last detail. Which you all knowing how detail oriented I am made me so happy. Feb. 23rd I spent all day in the studio photographing...

What a bad blogger I have been…

Feb 9, 2009

As soon as I got home from CHA I hit the ground running. No time to relax for a single second. I guess I will do a little run down of what has been going on in my little neck of the woods… 1st… CHA was a blast. Going with Maya Road is always so much fun. I did loads of make n takes, gave away fun stuff and got to chat with lots of wonderful people. 2nd… As soon as I got home I had to instantly start on a layout for Memory Makers. It is going to be included in an article in the July/August issue. I am not even going to tell you what it looks like as you will know it is mine the second you see it. It uses...

Oct 13, 2008

This weekend I stayed in Waxahachie with some of the Maya Road girls… Caroline, Jessica, Aubrey and Wendy. I gotta tell you, Wendy taught some of the most inspiring classes all day Saturday and all day Sunday at the Crafty Scrapper. If you ever see that Wendy Vecchi is coming to a store near you I say run and sign up as fast as you can. You do NOT want to miss any of her classes. Wendy is the first person I have ever taken a class from and I want more. She taught me so many great techniques that I plan on carrying over into future projects. Thanks Wendy for all the inspiration. This little album is one I created in Wendy’s Fragments class. Wendy has you bring scraps of paper, rubons and...
