Perfect Pearls Love Tag

Feb 7, 2011

I created this tag using the new Perfect Pearls Confections Kit just released at by Ranger CHA-W. If you went to Ranger’s booth you might have seen it. This new combination is so pretty and reminds me of Spring. If you would like to recreate this tag just go here and you’ll find the entire supply list and step by step instructions. I used the Tim Holtz Alterations Tattered Florals Bigz Die to make the flower. I like the look of the pearls and vintage buttons strung on 24 gauge wire. I think I might be doing this more often. And yes you can see I used UTEE on the tag. It adds just the right amount of dimension and is so simple to do. I need jars and jars and jars of this...

Merry Christmas Gift Tag ~ Ornament

Dec 14, 2010

Here is another tag I plan on attaching to a gift this Christmas. It can then be kept and used as an ornament later on. I loved adding all the little details … pearls, buttons, jingle bells, flocked flowers, seam binding and lots and lots of Stickles. One can never have too much Stickles. I’m trying to convince Santa that I need a huge VAT of Platinum and Diamond Stickles this year. I know I have been good, good, good and really deserve them. Supplies Used: Tim Holtz Alterations Bigz Die Caged Bird, The Girls’ Paperie – Tinsel & Twig (Deck the Halls, Snowfall), Self Adhesive 2mm Cream Pearls, Rhinestones, Flocked Flowers, Vintage Buttons, 6mm Gold Jingle Bells, Brown & White Baker’s Twine, Dusty Olive Seam Binding, Creamy Brown Ink, Diamond & Platinum Stickles, Foam...

Money Envelope

Dec 13, 2010

I created this money envelope using this tutorial created by Wendy Vecchi of Studio 490. I did have to substitute a few things since I didn’t have all the stamps she used or one of the Distress Ink colors. I must admit it’s nice stepping out of your comfort zone every once in awhile and stamping is certainly stepping out for me. It’s scary as I cannot get over the everything needs to be perfect stuff but I am trying. Oh and let me fill you in on a little secret… today is my super sweet friend Wendy’s birthday. I think she is celebrating something like her 25th. I don’t know I could be wrong but I know I’m not off by far. So when you go over to check out her awesome tutorial make sure you...

Noel Tag

Dec 9, 2010

Today, I decided to create a tag using some of my favorite things. It’s fun gathering supplies when all the while you have no clue what it is you’re going to create. I gathered and gathered (Vintage Images, Cream Felt, Maya Road Chipboard Snowflakes, Fine Silver German Glass Glitter, Sisal Trees a.k.a. bottle brush trees, Self Adhesive Pearls, Mica, Diamond & Platinum Stickles, Tiny Alphas and Fiskars Punches) until my work area was filled with inspiring products. In the end this is what I created. It will be a gift tag for someone’s gift this Christmas. The Fiskars Extra Large Postage Stamp Squeeze Punch is a great punch. I really like the size the punched image creates and if you outline the images with Platinum Stickles and accent them with Diamond Stickles it makes...

Another week flew by quick…

Aug 26, 2010

Gosh my blog is taking a huge hit right now. I guess I will give you a quick run through of my week. Lots of neat things going on. First off I am super excited to be a part of Paper Cowgirl next year. I was thrilled when Cindy asked if I would be the guest speaker and a teacher at her event. This is going to be such a super fun weekend. On a sad note my grandfather has said his good byes and has told everyone he is ready to pass on. If you would please send him comforting thoughts and prayers I would really appreciate it. My Dad has been with him since last Friday. Thankfully my Aunts made it to ME yesterday to see him. So needless to say since...

Mother’s Day Ornament/Tag

May 5, 2010

Here is an ornament/tag I created using an image from this vintage lady pdf. I LOVE these images and plan on creating a few more ornaments to attach to gift bags as needed. I always write a little note on the back of the tag for the recipient as I feel it adds such a personal touch to the gift. And I was really happy with how the rose looked on the tag too. I added a little creamy brown ink to distress it just a bit. I think it’s perfect. Those of you registered in my Tips, Techniques and Tutorials workshop, I will be posting the tutorial on how to recreate this soon. So be watching. Supplies Used: Maya Road Scroll Frames, Ledger Paper, Sheet Music, Platinum Stickles, Maya Road Chandelier Bead, Self...

Altered Prima Bottle

Mar 29, 2010

This looks so much prettier in person. I wish you could see all the sparkle. It is hard to photograph it well so that you can see the entire thing. Anyway, I had fun getting my fingers messy today. Not something I usually do as I am a super neat scrapper and have never liked having my hands dirty… never, ever, ever. And I passed that gene right on to my Sweet Pea Terri. That girl does not get dirty either. I wish I could have my son-in-law share with you the story of their first camping trip. He is a Saint is all I have to say, I have never laughed so hard! I hope you enjoy today’s project. Trying to think of something to make for tomorrow. I have a feeling it...

Happy Valentine’s Day!

Feb 14, 2010

Little Red Wagon is one of my all time favorite stamp sets by Pink Persimmon. You will find a tag I created using this stamp set on page 66 in my book Delight In The Details. And the above card is a card I created last year (which just happens to be my all time favorite Valentine’s Day card) if it looks familiar to my long time blog readers. If you are new to my blog you can learn how to recreate this card here. I have been busy creating some adorable vintage inspired Easter Ornaments that can be used as either ornaments, tags or accents on a spring garland. This class will be taught in the morning on March 6th at Crop, Paper, Scissors in Waco. And the cool thing is you will...

Canvas Sampler…

Jan 19, 2010

This canvas sampler was created using a page from the new Maya Road Canvas Frayed Edge Triangle Banner. I trimmed the edges using scallop scissors. I cut the burlap piece then stitched the items onto it before I attached it to the canvas banner page. This way you don’t see the stitching and the back of the banner page looks clean. I covered a Mini Kraft Tag with vintage sheet music then accented it using the new Brown Scallop Trim and a vintage button. The center of the Cream Medallion Flower is accented with Diamond Stickles. I attached the words cut from a book page to the back of a Dangling Chandelier Bead using Glossy Accents. Such a simple technique that creates quite an impact on a bead. To see the last day of...

Sneak Peeks for Day 4 are ya ready? Look at this sweet new stamp set. It is called Our Town. This stamp set includes 12 houses in various sizes and the words Home and Sweet. I misted the new Deborah mini alphas with Bronze Maya Mist and outlined them using a Black Jelly Roll Pen. You get 65 letters that range in size from 0.6″ to 1.2″. The base of this tag is a page from the new Modern Label Chipboard Coaster. You get six pages on a chain and the first page is embossed. I accented the tag using a new Crystal Pin (60 per pack) and a Dangling Chandelier Bead (3 different sizes and over 70 per pack). These flowers are the new Brown & Cream Ruffle Blossoms. You get 8 blossoms...

Day 3 of Maya Road Sneak Peeks

Jan 15, 2010

Check out all the new beauties. There are quite a few so I will start with the Felt Pearl Blossoms. They come in several different shades, off-white, brown, pink, grey, yellow and turquoise. The Heart Pins come in the gorgeous pearl red as shown in my project and the sweetest baby pink. And the fun thing about the Dangling Chandelier Beads is they are clear so you can color them any color you want using either copic markers or alcohol inks in this super cool fillable pen. The sky is the limit for these as you can make them any color you wish to match your projects. Then we have the super cute Kraft Mini Tickets that come in 13 different designs and the Kraft Mini Tags that come in 6 different designs. I...

New Maya Road Metallic Ink Colors…

Jan 14, 2010

You are going to LOVE the new Maya Road metallic inkpads… the coverage is incredible, the colors are great and I am so in love. But what is new right…. I know I always say I am in love when it comes to Maya Road but it is true. I don’t say it unless I mean it and I really do feel you are going to LOVE these new Inkpads just as much as I do. The inspiration behind this tag comes from a piece of Pennsylvania Dutch Folk Art I saw online… when I saw it the tulips on the piece reminded me of some chipboard pieces in the Maya Road Damask Chipboard Sheet, well one thing led to another and here you have it… my tag version of Pennsylvania Dutch Folk Art....

Snow Day Tag

Dec 12, 2009

With all the snow lots of my friends seem to be having as of late I thought this might be a fun project to document their snow days. This tag can be used as an ornament for the tree or for an accent in any room of your house. I have always loved this photo of my Mom back in 1957. Salem, West Virginia, where my mom grew up had a snow storm that winter that left her little town looking like a winter wonderland. Her dog poochie loved playing outside with her in the snow as you can see from the photo. I find it kind of amusing that Mom and Dad had the same knickname growing up of “Dickie” and their dogs had the same name of “Poochie”. Supplies Used: Maya Road...
