What was I thinking?

Feb 11, 2010

Seriously, I had no idea I would have such a wonderful response over my book. I honestly put my heart and soul into each project and wrote in the hopes that you would feel like we were sitting at the kitchen table chatting. You all have been so incredibly wonderful and I thank you so much. This being said I had NO idea I would be so busy after I came home from CHA. My feet hit the floor running. Everyone that purchased a book from me… it is on the way so start stalking the mailman now. I have been answering email like crazy so if you sent me one and I have not responded as of yet please know I am answering them as quickly as I can. I am also designing...

Washing, Packing and a little Panicking…

Jan 20, 2010

Tomorrow I leave bright and early for CHA and I can’t wait to get on that plane as then all the preparations are out of my hands. It will be time to just roll with the flow and accept what comes my way. Oh I hope I can do this gracefully. So today is filled with washing and packing and praying everything fits in my suitcase. I always wonder what the xray guys think when they see my suitcase… hmm what in the world is this thing? I’m sure my “Crop-a-dile” really blows their minds. Then I have my big honkin Fiskar scallop and pinking scissors. Can you imagine being the guy xraying the suitcases and having no clue about all the different tools in the craft industry. I bet they really don’t like...

Sneak Peeks for Day 4 are ya ready? Look at this sweet new stamp set. It is called Our Town. This stamp set includes 12 houses in various sizes and the words Home and Sweet. I misted the new Deborah mini alphas with Bronze Maya Mist and outlined them using a Black Jelly Roll Pen. You get 65 letters that range in size from 0.6″ to 1.2″. The base of this tag is a page from the new Modern Label Chipboard Coaster. You get six pages on a chain and the first page is embossed. I accented the tag using a new Crystal Pin (60 per pack) and a Dangling Chandelier Bead (3 different sizes and over 70 per pack). These flowers are the new Brown & Cream Ruffle Blossoms. You get 8 blossoms...

Oh how I love being on the Maya Road design team especially this time of year when I get to play with all their new release products. Here is a project I created using lots of new Maya Road products. This sweet banner will be displayed in my scraproom and certainly in a spot so that I can see it all the time. I just love it. I colored the Maya Road Hanging Chandelier Beads using a Copic Marker (Sand E33) and I embossed the Chipboard Buttons using my Cuttlebug and the French Script Embossing Folder. I have wonderful blog readers…

Dec 23, 2009

First I must say WOW… thank you all so much for all the wonderful comments and emails you have sent me regarding this post. I have decided to keep it real on my blog this year. I certainly do not want to give the false impression that everyday is a holiday for me. Most days are really great don’t get me wrong. But I think we woman sometimes get caught in a trap and feel it sets us up for unrealistic expectations on ourselves when we read that everything is always peachy or things always seem so perfect at all times on other blogs. Really life is not that way and I certainly do not want to portray that mine is. Yes I do have so many things to be thankful for and I...

We are so close to finishing up this 12 Day Advent Pocket Calendar. I find this a fun way to keep the holidays going during Ansley’s winter break and it helps with the sting of having to go back to school… just a little something to look forward to each day after Christmas.  And I decided to give you a peek at how I am arranging the pockets. This is far from being finished as I need to add some trim and other embellishments but at least this way you can see the method to my madness. Just two empty spots left to fill. I love how today’s pocket worked out… the little jester doll looks as though he is throwing a snowball.. too cute! Stamp image onto heavy weight white cardstock, ink on...

I gotta say I am impressed with myself today… two big blog posts in one day.… As promised here are the instructions for this sweet snowman ornament that was part of Debby’s 12 Days of Home for the Holidays. You want to make sure to keep checking Debby’s blog because she has a new designer featured each day. I love reading how others preserve their holiday traditions. For the next several weeks I will be posting 12 altered pockets that when finished and put together will create a 12 Day Advent Pocket Style Calendar. I hope you decide to play along as you too will end up with an adorable calendar. This project is still in the works and is an idea I have so I will not have a complete supply list for you a head of time, just supplies used for that days pocket. I like to try to create something each day and think this will be a fun project to have in the works. I already stamped my images and accented my Fragments Charms so which ever charm pocket I feel like working on and finishing that day is the one you will see the next. It...

19 years and counting…

Nov 10, 2009

Today, Alan and I celebrate our 19th wedding anniversary. 19 years… how can this be? Time really does fly right on by. Happy Anniversary, Alan. Love is one long sweet dream, and marriage is the alarm clock. ~Author Unknown That quote cracks me up! And this is my favorite photo of the entire night… me at the time with my two favorite people (pre Ansley, now I have three just want to make that clear). The photo was taken right after the I do’s. The sweet adorable 2 year old is my now sweet adorable 21 year old Terri. I asked her why she wasn’t looking at Uncle Don when he took the photo and she replied in the cutest little “Roo” voice ever… ” I didn’t want to step on my dress, Momma.”...

Tarnished Ornament, Charm or…

Nov 3, 2009

REALLY cool keychain… yes, this is what I will be using as a keychain for a bit. This piece makes me so happy! It reminds me of my two sweet daughters Terri and Ansley, I love the sound of jingle bells (the little bells jingle), I love the look of tarnished silver, antique jewelry and chandelier pieces (this includes all three) and stamped on the Trinket Pin is one of my favorite words “Vintage” we all know I LOVE anything VINTAGE! So what do you think of my new keychain? I LOVE IT and think it will make running errands a lot more enjoyable. And now to the tutorial.. you know I LOVE figuring out ways to make things look old and yesterday I figured out how to make silver look tarnished… talk about...

Vintage Doily Basket…

Oct 30, 2009

I think this doily basket is the perfect size to hold items for a fun filled vintage themed holiday swap. Once filled and wrapped in cellophane then tied with red and white baker’s twine and accented with holly leaves and berries… well you have a perfect gift. If a vintage holiday swap is not in your future this vintage doily basket would also look sweet sitting on a co-workers desk filled with peppermints or other holiday candies. Several hanging on a feather tree filled with goodies would be cute too… as you can see there are lots of possibilities for this sweet basket.
