Today She Is One

Jan 25, 2013

It’s hard to believe my sweet little niece Olivia is a year old, today. As you can see she is a super happy baby. Olivia has brought loads of joy to our family and I am so happy for facetime. It’s so exciting to see her look closer into the phone and smile at me as well as clap her hands and play peek-a-boo. Although our first game of peek-a-boo was totally an accident on my part but she knew exactly what she was doing. I talk with my hands and when I put my hand on my head she thought I was wanting to play peek-a-boo and started playing and of course I instantly played until she lost interest. Olivia’s first year has had many memorable moments of wondering why her parents sat...

Sweet Little Girls Embellishment Tutorial

Jan 22, 2013

Using the products listed below is a really quick way to create cute embellishments and accents for any project. Plus when storing your Adirondack Alcohol Inks in a palette as I have shown above makes alcohol inks super portable for crops and weekend retreats. To create your portable palette of alcohol inks simply apply enough drops of each alcohol ink color to cover each of the inside circles in the palette as shown above, let the alcohol inks dry and you are ready to go. You fill the Adirondack Alcohol Ink Fillable Pen just as the instructions on the back of the packaging instruct only you use Adirondack Alcohol Blending Solution instead of Alcohol Inks. Inspiration for a Crafty Weekend

Nov 30, 2012

Since I am cleaning out and reorganizing my craft room, this week, which is total torture but thankfully I have an awesome neighbor, Jennifer who is helping me and keeping me on task. I just keep telling myself once I’m finished it’s going to be so awesome working in it once again. These are just a portion of the empty boxes I had to go through, empty out and put stuff away. Caroline Lau is to blame for LOTS of these boxes. Anyway, I thought I would take a break and go through my blog post Archives and find some weekend inspiration for you. I plan on making all my Christmas gifts this year and if you are as well, well there might be a few things to inspire you. Sometimes it good to...

Ranger University Day 2

Apr 29, 2012

This morning we started our day with Claudine Hellmuth. Claudine is such a sweet and very funny lady. She was quite entertaining and filled our heads with so many techniques and ideas my head was spinning by the time we stopped for lunch which was some awesome square pizza. During Claudine’s class we painted, transferred, glazed and tinted. The hands on experience you get with each instructor here at Ranger is unbelievable. They give you so much information that honestly by the end of the day my brain hurt and once again was swirling with ideas. During Claudine’s class Ronda and I laughed at the difference in our work area. She ALWAYS had a little mess here and there and I ALWAYS had mine cleaned up after each technique. So typical. After Claudine finished...

What a wonderful weekend…

Feb 27, 2012

Friday night was so much fun. I still cannot believe I was sitting at the table signing two books I created and wrote. Crazy I tell ya. Just goes to show , if you just keep working and moving forward, as the days add up it is amazing where you will end. Carolyn’s store, The Crafty Scrapper is such a happy place. Her employees are all so wonderful, her endless supply of amazing product is mind blowing and well Carolyn is pretty wonderful herself. Her son Denton is such a sweetheart. He gave me  flowers that were sprayed with a light dusting of glitter. How sweet was that! He can do no wrong in my eyes. I love that little boy something fierce. Caroline even drove down to be there which was really appreciated....

Happy Valentine’s Day

Feb 14, 2012

This sweet Valentine’s Day card was created and sent to me from my Aunt Linda. I was so surprised when I opened the envelope as I don’t think I have one item from her that is handmade, so this is a true treasure. Aunt Linda retired a few years ago and lives in Florida where she fills her days with family, friends and GRANDKIDS, gosh does she ever have fun with her grandkids. But NOW it looks like some of her time is filled creating cards and I must say her choice in stamps is fabulous. And it really made me happy to see she even used GLITTER. Thank you, Aunt Linda. I love you. I hope your day is filled with love....

Olivia Dylan Pace

Jan 27, 2012

I’m so happy to share the newest addition to the Pace family. My niece, Olivia Dylan Pace was born January 25th. She weighed in at 7 lbs. 2 oz. and is doing great. Olivia is the first child born to my brother-in-law Douglas and his wife Karen. They live out of state so it is pure torture not being able to snuggle on her. Nothing sweeter than a new born baby. First Family Photo January 25, 2012 Olivia Dylan Pace Olivia and her daddy. Happy New Year

Jan 1, 2012

There is nothing like a New Year to create goals, challenges, and dreams. I try not to look back, I just move forward and reflect on where I ended up, at the end of the year. I force myself to look at what I have accomplished and not worry about what I have not. I tend to beat myself up for not obtaining perfection. I’m so bad at that, “Failure Is Not An Option” runs through my head more than I care to admit. So there is no need to start the year off on a downer. Because let’s face it… we all set goals, challenges and dreams to which some are met and well, some are not. No need to beat yourself up first thing in the New Year. Nope, be happy where...

Memories made

Dec 27, 2011

The day I became an aunt was such an amazing day. My sweet niece Amanda was the first to come along and make me an aunt. She would come and stay with me and Alan for two weeks, each summer. I would sit outside on the patio and watch her as she poured water from a little pitcher to a cup for HOURS straight or watch her play dress up, then as she got older show her how to put on make up and surprise her at a football game when she was cheering as well as many other special moments. Each time we were together we watched or talked about the movie Cinderella. We’ve watched it so many times I can honestly say, I lost count. But since it is my favorite movie...

Black Friday

Nov 25, 2011

I hope all of you had a wonderful Thanksgiving. Ansley went out with friends early this morning to do some Black Friday shopping. I on the other hand enjoyed a nice quiet evening and slept. I’m also hoping that what my friend Wendy says, “any pie eaten on a holiday has zero calories” is true. But, from the tightness of my jeans, today I think the pie might have been calorie free but what got me was the turkey, sweet potato casserole, mashed potatoes, stuffing and deviled eggs.  I’m going to have to visit my long lost friend Mr. Treadmill ASAP. I am so not looking forward to his visit. Ok on to the fun… All you local Scrappers, Stampers and Mixed Media Arts  The Crafty Scrapper is having a wonderful BLACK FRIDAY SALE… I’m happy...

You know you are loved.…

Oct 5, 2011

when a sweet little boy gives you one of his treasures. Once Artistic Journey was over I was loading my car with the help of a super sweet boy, Denton. Denton is Carolyn’s (owner of The Crafty Scrapper) son and I just adore him tremendously. He always helps me with anything I need when I’m getting ready to teach a class. He is super sweet, kind and a very talented artist. This boy can draw amazingly well. This weekend was Denton’s birthday. I didn’t have a chance to get him a card so while he was helping me carry things to my car I gave him some birthday money. As I was loading everything I noticed Denton digging around in Carolyn’s car. As we started to head back in the store he stops me...

Thrift Store Storage Containers…

Aug 31, 2011

It is certainly no secret how much I love going to thrift stores and antique shops. I have shared my love of this many a time on my blog. I love the thrill of the hunt and never knowing what you will find around each corner. I thought it would be nice to show you what I do with some of the finds as they make me very happy in my scraproom. There is just something so calming looking at and using items from days gone by. This little planter was my grandmother’s. I just stuck some batting in the opening, covered it with material I found in the remnant section of my favorite resale shop and now use it as a pin cushion. It’s perfect for my Maya Road pins and sewing needles....

Some Family Fun…

Aug 20, 2011

Hi! Hope everyone had a great week! So happy to be back here again to share with you some of the new vintage-inspired, Vintage Street Market products. This collection of fun paper dolls is from our Family Fun line, which includes great paper doll die cuts for embellishing, and coordinating 12x12 cardstock. One thing I especially love about our own products is  how well they coordinate with authentic vintage items, which leads me to the first project I’d like to share today… Remember these ice cream cups from childhood? I remember every day at school during lunch, we would get to choose a flavor of ice cream, and would be given one of these cups and a little wooden spoon. We were all so eager to eat the ice cream the threat of splinters...

Just a little something…

Jun 17, 2011

I’m so proud of my oldest daughter, Terri. She is a super hard worker and doing so well in her career. I really do miss the days when she was younger with her sweet little “Roo” voice, oh how I loved it when she would say “Momma.” But I must admit, seeing her grow and achieve her goals as an adult is equally rewarding. So yesterday, I decided to play in my studio and create a little something for her to put in her cubical.
