Paper Bag Easter Basket

Apr 11, 2011

I love the simplicity of brown paper bags and think they make the perfect Easter baskets. I remember making them in grade school and being so excited to bring them home to show mom and dad. This basket can be left plain or altered using patterned paper, stamps and inks or paint. You can carefully use any of the many Fiskars border punches to create gorgeous edges along the top of your basket or you could take a hole punch and punch a hole just below where the scallop meets, thread a ribbon through the holes and create a pretty bow by tying the two ends together. This simple basket has so many possibilities. I hope you share photos of the baskets you create as I would love to see them. Have fun creating....

Who do you love?

Feb 8, 2011

As a child growing up I loved getting to visit my grandparents. Grammy Childers and Grammy Spinney always had one thing in common… flowers. I remember knowing I was at Grammy Spinney’s house as soon as I saw the pansies in her yard. And every summer Grammy Childers had the most gorgeous Hydrangea bush just below her kitchen window. The blooms were the size of dinner plates. Her garden always had flowers growing around it as well as along the sidewalk of her house. So each time I see flowers blooming I always think of them. So since flowers seem to remind me of those two special ladies I thought I would share this tag I created for Ranger. It was in there booth during CHA-W. The flowers on this tag were created using...

Perfect Pearls Love Tag

Feb 7, 2011

I created this tag using the new Perfect Pearls Confections Kit just released at by Ranger CHA-W. If you went to Ranger’s booth you might have seen it. This new combination is so pretty and reminds me of Spring. If you would like to recreate this tag just go here and you’ll find the entire supply list and step by step instructions. I used the Tim Holtz Alterations Tattered Florals Bigz Die to make the flower. I like the look of the pearls and vintage buttons strung on 24 gauge wire. I think I might be doing this more often. And yes you can see I used UTEE on the tag. It adds just the right amount of dimension and is so simple to do. I need jars and jars and jars of this...

CHA Day 3

Feb 1, 2011

What a great day today was. Thank you to all my sweet friends who came by the booth to wish me a happy birthday. It was so sweet of all of you. Those of you that decided to sing happy birthday to me I thank you too even though I wanted to run and hide. It was funny and I must admit so sweet. Carolyn and Keri made me a birthday card out of one of the catalogs they got at the show. I will have to take a photo of it tomorrow so you can see… it is too cute!  Caroline and David took all the Roadies out to eat and surprised me with a wonderful brownie and singing waiter after dinner. Yes I was beet red, wanting to hide but was touched...

It’s a BeaUTEEful day over here…

Jan 24, 2011

(I think I just saw some eyerolls, but really how cute is the word BeaUTEEful? Talk about making a super cute t-shirt… and I would wear it!) Ok on to some projects. This was a simple brown box that a necklace came in and I turned it into this using these products … Vintage Photo Distress Ink, Blending Tool, Jet Black Archival Ink, two Wendy Vecchi Studio 490 Stamps (Script & Flower), Embossing Ink, Mold-n-Pour, Clear UTEE, Heat Gun, Non-Stick Craft Mat, Platinum Stickles, Heavy Weight White Cardstock, Seam Binding and Foam Squares. From start to finish this took no more than 30 min. And I also made this sweet teeny tiny house covered it in UTEE (did you really think I wouldn’t?) then altered trees, trims and a banner. The entire piece is...

Money Envelope

Dec 13, 2010

I created this money envelope using this tutorial created by Wendy Vecchi of Studio 490. I did have to substitute a few things since I didn’t have all the stamps she used or one of the Distress Ink colors. I must admit it’s nice stepping out of your comfort zone every once in awhile and stamping is certainly stepping out for me. It’s scary as I cannot get over the everything needs to be perfect stuff but I am trying. Oh and let me fill you in on a little secret… today is my super sweet friend Wendy’s birthday. I think she is celebrating something like her 25th. I don’t know I could be wrong but I know I’m not off by far. So when you go over to check out her awesome tutorial make sure you...

Digging, digging and digging…

Oct 13, 2009

My goodness is it ever so obvious when you look at my vintage stash just how much I love vintage Christmas items. But since my dad is Santa I guess this is to be expected. I have been pulling items out like a mad woman as I prepare for my next online workshop… the CHRISTMAS workshop. Oh how I love to create Christmas projects. I have a list of things to create that I think are going to make a charming holiday workshop. The name is still yet to be determined so I had a thought… leave a title idea in the comments section of this post. If your title is picked you will win a free access pass to the workshop. If no title is picked I will have Ansley pick one person...

Did you know…

Jan 9, 2009

Maya Road has a Valentine’s Day release? If you didn’t you need to check out this cute little “Love Ticket” Singleton Stamp. I love that the words are seperate stamps too, so perfect for little sentiments on tiny tags. Then they have this adorable “Forever Postage” Singleton Stamp. I really love this trio… so perfect to accent your Valentine’s or candy wrappers. They also have this wonderful Maya Mist set of Red and Silver… gorgeous colors used separately or in combination. The “Love Keychain” set is so cute and has so many possibilities for projects… no favorite here as I love each one. And last but not least they have this really cute “Key Keychain” set. This set would also be cute as embellishments for a new home or car for those of you...

What a fun weekend…

Oct 13, 2008

This weekend I stayed in Waxahachie with some of the Maya Road girls… Caroline, Jessica, Aubrey and Wendy. I gotta tell you, Wendy taught some of the most inspiring classes all day Saturday and all day Sunday at the Crafty Scrapper. If you ever see that Wendy Vecchi is coming to a store near you I say run and sign up as fast as you can. You do NOT want to miss any of her classes. Wendy is the first person I have ever taken a class from and I want more. She taught me so many great techniques that I plan on carrying over into future projects. Thanks Wendy for all the inspiration. This little album is one I created in Wendy’s Fragments class. Wendy has you bring scraps of paper, rubons and...

Congrats to my dear friend…

Jul 29, 2008

Wendy’s stamps are large cling mounted stamps (I think there are 24 all together) and she has a really cool clear album to store them in when not in use. Oh and not only was she debuting her own stamp line, she was also doing demos for Ranger using Perfect Pearls which now I have got to start using cause they are so cool.
