25 Day Countdown to Christmas

Nov 23, 2012

Today, I’m making a 25 day Countdown to Christmas project with my nieces Madelyn and Bellie. As you can see from the photo they are loving their new matching jammies. New flannel jammies are the best especially when you find matching ones like my mom did with a monkey print design. Ok sorry, back to the project. Both little sweet peas will decorate 12 standard sized card envelopes using stickers, self adhesive gems, then stamp the numbers needed on each of their bags. Madelyn will stamp the odd numbers and Bellie the even numbers. I will decorate envelope 25 for them to either use as a sample or for inspiration. Once all the envelopes are decorated I’ll fill each one with 2 pieces of candy and a printed strip of paper that has one...

Dream Tag

Aug 9, 2012

Here is a fun tag to create that is filled with all kinds of little techniques that are perfect to use on other projectsl. I started with a plain manila office tag and covered it with vintage ledger paper. Next, using the Maya Road Ornate Frames stamp set and Jet Black Archival Ink, I stamped the frame images onto the ledger paper. Next I took the new Maya Road Floral Garden Fabric Tape and filled the inside area of the frames. I then accented the flowers with Diamond Stickles and let it dry. Once dry, I covered the Fabric Tape with Glossy Accents and let it dry. Make sure you have a pin handy to pop any air bubbles that occur. Here is a little tip: I like to leave the stamps on the acetate...

Antiquated Collection Designer Samples

May 14, 2012

I just had to show you some of the adorable cards, tags and projects my design team created using the new Antiquated Collection Spring Release stamp sets. I am so in love with these new stamps sets. Susie Moore created these three adorable projects using the new Antiquated Collection ~ Sweet Little Girls and Knick Knack stamp sets. Each piece is detailed to perfection with pearls, flowers and trims. As you can see by Susie’s projects these stamp sets are fun to color in with inks and markers. I love how Susie used the Scooter Boy. This little plaque just screams boy with the baseball accents, domino piece and all the red, white and blue. Thanks, Susie. Karin Aguirre created these two super sweet tags using the new Antiquated Collection ~ Darling Little Ones...

Make-n-Take Madness

Apr 2, 2012

A SUPER FUN time was had by all at The Crafty Scrapper, Saturday. All you could hear was laughter, oh and the occasional DARLENE… GENA from Carolyn as she needed help off and on. It was so funny watching Darlene and Gena come running with some funny little smack down comment. It kept everyone laughing. Carolyn’s make-n-take was by far the messiest. She had ink and mists and stamps and stencils all over her table. I even got inky doing her make-n-take and will show it to you in a later post. It is CUTE. She used all the new dylusions ink spray, stencils and stamp sets. I plan on using Dyan Reaveley’s background and border stamps with my Antiquated Collection stamp sets. I think vintage meets quirky will fun to create. My “Trunk...

Happy Valentine’s Day

Feb 14, 2012

This sweet Valentine’s Day card was created and sent to me from my Aunt Linda. I was so surprised when I opened the envelope as I don’t think I have one item from her that is handmade, so this is a true treasure. Aunt Linda retired a few years ago and lives in Florida where she fills her days with family, friends and GRANDKIDS, gosh does she ever have fun with her grandkids. But NOW it looks like some of her time is filled creating cards and I must say her choice in stamps is fabulous. And it really made me happy to see she even used GLITTER. Thank you, Aunt Linda. I love you. I hope your day is filled with love....

Maya Road Sneak Peek 4

Jan 23, 2012

This Sampler Piece is one of my favorite projects I created for CHA. It showcases all kinds of Maya Road embellishments as well as stamps from all the Antiquated Collection stamp sets. The base of the canvas is covered with linen and all the altered square and rectangle chipboard pieces are from the Maya Road Foundations Chipboard Set. I covered them with vintage ledger paper and vintage sheet music. Then stamped all the images using Jet Black Archival Ink. So on to the Maya Road winter release items… the top middle rectangle has their new Vintage Metal Trinket Dress Form Hangers. The second row first square showcases their new Wood Mini Butterflies and the second row third square showcases their new Canvas Shipping Tags. In the upper left corner you can see a new...

Stamped Muslin

Dec 16, 2011

Here is a wonderful way to create custom ribbon for any project or gift. All you need to do is tear strips of natural or bleached muslin about 1″ wide and as long as you desire. Then place the Lavender Salts stamp from my Antiquated  Collection ~ Perfumery Stamp Set ~ Pink Persimmon onto an acrylic block, ink the stamp with Coffee Archival Ink and stamp all along the length of the torn muslin strip. I alternated the top, middle and bottom areas of the stamp to create a collage look. Super simple and so pretty. This would look gorgeous tied around a gift wrapped in butcher block paper and accented with a sprig of pine, holly or mistletoe. May Flaum posted a tutorial on her blog “Confessions of  a Chocoholic” showing you how...

Miniature Charms

Dec 14, 2011

I’ve been having fun creating these miniature charms in between working on CHA projects and other design commitments. Yes, it’s that time of year again… CHA-W is just a little over a month away. I will be working in the Maya Road booth again with some wonderful make n takes lined up and have two book signings for my new book “Delight In The Seasons”…. I cannot wait for this book to debut. I’m so proud of it! Ok on to the charms… the base measure 3/4 inches square and are actually vintage bingo pieces. I attached heavy white cardstock on the top of each bingo piece then using Coffee Archival Ink and several different Antiquated Collection stamps I stamped parts of the images from the Perfumery (crown), Pocket Watch and Robe Pattern (Fine...

What a journey…

Nov 21, 2011

Way back in 2005 never in my wildest dreams did I ever think I would end up where I am today. I have been blessed with guidance, encouragement, determination, a little bit of talent and endless support from family and friends. I am lucky and I know and appreciate it greatly. I try my best to give back and help those trying to break into this industry and feel a bit of my success is positive Karma coming back my way. So the next bit of fun that has come my way is working with these three wonderful ladies… Ronda Palazzari, Kristii Lockart and Karin Aguirre. They are members of my “Antiquated Collection” Design Team. Yes, I am now coordinating my very own Design Team. I know there is no way I can show the versatility of my...

A Very Heartfelt Thank You…

Nov 20, 2011

Some days you know you are standing exactly where you should. I say “some” days because there are others when I feel as if I’m beating my head up against the wall or slowly riding a bike up the steepest mountain in America and I’m asking myself why I stay in this industry. The answer– always– is that I love it so much. I understand that with success comes frustration. You just have to work your way through it and keep moving forward, even if moving forward means just one step a day you are still moving forward. So, with all that said, at this moment I feel I’m exactly where I should be standing. … because yesterday was one of those days. Filled with anticipation, excitement and fear. Lots and lots and lots...

A little birdie said…

Nov 14, 2011

There will be sneak peeks all week long of my new stamp line “Antiquated Collection by Lisa M. Pace”. I certainly thank Darcy and Judi with Pink Persimmon for helping me turn this dream into reality. When we chatted over the summer about the ideas I had for this line I told them I wanted very detailed stamps and my goodness they did not disappoint. Each stamp in my new line has such detail it makes me squeal in delight, just like I did as a little girl on Christmas morning. I created a Facebook page for “Antiquated Collection” where I will be posting projects, sneak peeks from other designers, upcoming info and giveaways, so make sure you click Like and Share the page with your friends. It’s going to be a fun week...

A Blast from the Past…

Aug 25, 2011

I thought it would be fun to show you some layouts I created using Cocoa Daisy kits from around 2007. Now that Ansley is a senior this year I find these layouts even more special. She grew up way too fast. In the layout above I felt there was too much white space in the background of Ansley’s photo so I used the end of my paintbrush and some acrylic paints to create a polka dot background. I like the pop of color the polka dots create and they fill in the white space perfectly. To pop the photo a bit more I painted yellow acrylic paint all around the edge of the photo creating a bright colored border. To fill in the white space on the photo above I attached clear buttons to...

Just a note.

Aug 19, 2011

Hello again! Christine from Cocoa Daisy here to share a couple fun cards I made using this month’s kit “Siren’s Call”. Every month before I put my kit away to start working with the next one I like to make a couple cards with the leftover bits on my desk. This month’s kit had the perfect bright, primary colors to create a couple cheery cards. For this first card I punched 1″ circles from the Cosmo Cricket paper and then ran them through my sewing machine, letting the machine run a few stitches in between each circle to create a banner like affect. I laid them out on the card in random order, placing foam adhesive under some to add a little dimension. I finished off the card with a tag and this cute...

Magnetic Clothespin Note Holders

Aug 10, 2011

Hi, my name is Darcy and I am representing Pink Persimmon today.  My sister (Judi) and I first got to know Lisa when she used some of our stamps in her first book “Delight in the Details”.  We are honored to be included as one of her guest bloggers this week.   One of our talented Creative Team members, Andrea Budjack, made these adorable magnetic clothespins and we’d like to share a little how-to here today. Andrea first cut three circles using her Sizzix Circles die, but you can use any circle punch or circle cutter that matches the stamp sizes.  She then stamped two images from the You’re a Jewel stamp set and the “a little note” stamp from Flower Greetings. She added a little distressing to the edges with ink and then...

Cameos… one can never have too many cameos and now you can stamp them on anything you wish. Maya Road has a new set called just that “Cameos”. The stamp set includes three ornate frames, an oval center stamp, four different sized  ladies, small accents and words. You get 17 stamps total. I will certainly be using this set a lot. I accented the lady’s hair using one of the new “Vintage Paper Posies” and three self adhesive pearls to create a tiny choker. The patterned paper used are scraps from my Cocoa Daisy “Urban Loft” kit. Sunday, I’m off to Chicago to meet up with Ronda and then Christine, Monday for CHA. It’s going to be a blast rooming with them again. The last time I saw them we were rooming together in...

A Moment In Time…

Jun 8, 2011

To create this tag I used the super cute Ampersand stamp in this months Cocoa Daisy “Cherry Soda” kit along with the “Coordinating Paint and Ink” and Word Stamp Set Add On Kits. I think the Ampersand and Word stamps make an adorable background pattern for this tag. The butterflies are created using a Martha Stewart punch, 2mm self adhesive pearls and Diamond Stickles accents. I like the pop of yellow under each butterfly as it compliments the cardstock sticker so well. I cut the journaling tag that came in the main kit to place at the bottom of the tag then attached the red brads in each of the four holes on the tag. The trim used is from the “Chocolate Malt” Add On Kit. I then attached a strip of 5mm self adhesive...
