I have a paper secret…

Sep 29, 2010

But I have to share. I just cannot keep this one a secret. While participating at the Cocoa Daisy Destination ~ Mykonos event I stumbled upon this gorgeous vintage paper line. And since I LOVE Christmas and anything with old Santa images well… you can only imagine my excitement. The designer is Gudrun Loennecken. She lives in Norway and is super talented. Gudrun did an adorable make n take with her papers one evening in Mykonos. Everyone loved her designs. The one shown below is Gudrun’s Christmas 2010 line and I cannot wait to start my Christmas album. Front view… love that little girl and the Santa images. Back view… the paper with the postcard images is incredible. Isn’t this little girl so cute among all the hearts and holly. Then you can only...

And for you, SURPRISE another Christmas project. I have a feeling this year Old Fashioned Mica Snowflakes are going to be on everything! Tomorrow, I will share a little project that will make the cutest holiday swap gift. Instructions: First pull out the cord hanger on the ornament as you will not need it. Paint a cube shaped paper mache ornament using a Manila colored acrylic paint. Once dry ink lightly the edges using ColorBox Fluid Chalk Ink in Creamy Brown. Digging, digging and digging…

Oct 13, 2009

My goodness is it ever so obvious when you look at my vintage stash just how much I love vintage Christmas items. But since my dad is Santa I guess this is to be expected. I have been pulling items out like a mad woman as I prepare for my next online workshop… the CHRISTMAS workshop. Oh how I love to create Christmas projects. I have a list of things to create that I think are going to make a charming holiday workshop. The name is still yet to be determined so I had a thought… leave a title idea in the comments section of this post. If your title is picked you will win a free access pass to the workshop. If no title is picked I will have Ansley pick one person...

Guess who is celebrating a Birthday…

Jun 25, 2009

On this day in 1942… inside this quaint little house in Salem, West Virginia,  a little girl was born into the Childers family. She is the youngest of three kids. Grew up with the nickname “Dickie”, dressed her kittens in doll clothes and pushed them in her doll carriage for hours. She loved to roller skate, draw, color and play outside. After High School she went to Beauty School… found out she married Santa Claus and well… the rest is history. Happy Birthday, Mom. I hope your day is great! I love...

Getting back in the groove…

Dec 30, 2008

Today I have about as much energy as a slug. Getting back into the groove after all the hustle and bustle of last minute holiday preparations always seems to be hard for me. We open presents at our house on Christmas Eve. I love baking cookies all morning and afternoon, cooking the dinner and watching Ansley go nuts counting down the hours until we open presents.  It is all so much fun and seeing happy faces on our girls is honestly the best gift ever. We had a wonderful visit with my mom and dad as well as my sister and her family. Alan, Ansley and I left to head down to Beaumont Christmas day. I love going home on Christmas day. Having the car filled with gifts and the excitement of seeing everyone...
