What a fun weekend…

Jun 14, 2010

This past weekend was filled with loads of fun at The Crafty Scrapper. I taught three sold out classes, 2 — Diamonds Are A Girls Best Friend and 1 — Tuscany and Roses. I actually remembered to bring my camera AND take some photos. Although I must admit I forgot to take photos of the first class. I get so wrapped up in teaching and laughing that my camera is the last thing i think about BUT I put the camera in my apron for the 2nd and 3rd class and made myself remember. So here are a few photos of all the fun being had. This is Friday nights Tuscany and Roses Class And here are photos from Saturdays Diamonds Are A Girls Best Friend Class. AND… since so many were not able...

Heritage Pennant

May 17, 2010

This is one of my favorite photos of my Mom and her Mother. I am guessing this photo was taken around 1944. I think photo booth photos are the best. So wanting to be able to see this photo more often I decided to create a little heritage style pennant. Now I can display it however I wish. Tips, Techniques and Tutorials I had a super fun Saturday at The Crafty Scrapper. I took two soldering classes 101 and 201. Trisha is a great teacher. If you ever have a chance to take a class from her I suggest you do. You will be so happy you did. I will show you some of the charms I made later in the week. Have a great day. I’m off to send Carolyn the info needed...

I love small houses…

May 11, 2010

I could create an entire village out of this old fashioned putz style house. Really, there are so many wonderful ways to decorate this sweet little house. I have other patterns in my head to create as well but I wanted something simple this go around. I like the simplicity of the black paint against the old book page. Also the accented star… it’s a Texas thing in gold German glass glitter really adds a nice pop of color to the front. Oh and don’t forget the crystal coarse glitter, it adds the perfect amount of sparkle. Tips, Techniques and Tutorials I have been super busy creating some new technique classes to teach at The Crafty Scrapper in Waxahachie. My “Diamonds Are A Girl’s Best Friend” Technique Class will be taught June 12th at...

22 Years…

Apr 23, 2010

It is so hard to believe my sweet Terri turns 22 today. I decided I would spare her all the embarrassing photos I want to show of her through the years. You know the ones only Moms think are cute but are as I have been told totally devastating if others were to see. Instead I will show you a few of her and my son-in-law taken in downtown Fort Worth totally happy and enjoying life… I hope it is always this good for the two of them. Happy Birthday Sweet Pea. I hope today is a wonderful day. Love you lots! Photos taken by Rodney Hays. Rodney’s...

I’m home…

Apr 16, 2010

It was a super fun week visiting Jessica and her family. Below is one of the photos I took while visiting and let me just say it was a week. Not only were we creating like crazy in the evenings we were also taking care of one kid with a mild case of chicken pox, one with strep throat and a 5 month old… some days we didn’t know if we were coming or going. It got so comical all we could do was laugh. Especially the day Jess called the Dr. to make an appointment to bring Jacob in due to some strange bumps on his face, turn right back around after dropping Hanna off at school to pick her up because she wasn’t feeling well, then call the Dr. to see if...

“Give A Mouse A Cookie” well this is what happens when you give two friends ribbon, fabric, a sewing machine, one free hour and Rebecca Sower. Jessica and I are having a blast making these flowers. And just a little FYI… this is a great way to use up your ribbon scraps. That is if you are like me, I keep every little piece. Now I have a super cool project to use them in. Warning: These flowers are extremely addicting to make. Once you start you do not want to stop. We also created a gorgeous banner using some of the family photos I took. It took us two days to finish it and it is wonderful… yes fabric flowers on this one too… as soon as I take some photos of it I will...

Grungepaper Flower PDF

Apr 5, 2010

I finally got my hands on some Grungepaper! And yes, it is super fun to play around with and I have lots of ideas for this neat product. This photo is of a flower I created using one of my templates, some Maya Mist, Glitter and Stickles. It was not a great day for photos this morning as it was very cloudy. This flower is a much brighter pink… it kinda looks cranberry here. I did discover a helpful hint that I want to pass along. When using any of the Maya Mists it is much easier to apply to Grungepaper using a paintbrush instead of spraying. Grungepaper does not absorb the mist as fast as chipboard. If you over spray you will end up having to blot some of the mist off which...

Happy Easter from my family to yours…

Apr 4, 2010

I thought I would share with you on this special day some family photos from Easters past. Oh how I love old family photos. Here are my mom and cousins Larry and Jimmie Easter Sunday. They are standing in front of my Aunt and Uncle’s house on Dog Run in Salem, WV, in 1954 or 55. Love that the girls as well as the ladies wore gloves with their new Easter attire. I’m not sure where Mom is standing for this photo but I am assuming it is either in the yard at her home or my aunt’s. They were only 2 houses away from each other. Which was so fun when the family would go visit in the summers. I’m sure my brother and I created a path between their houses… we went...

New online workshop “You R 2 Tweet”

Feb 20, 2010

This “You R 2 Tweet” mini banner is the fun project I taught at CHA‑W in Anaheim this past January. The great thing about this online workshop is you don’t have to show up at 7:00 a.m. to start creating like I and everyone else had to do. You get to create this project in the comforts of your own home and on your own time. I tell ya not being a morning person sure did make that a tough time slot for a class but we all made the best of it (most with Starbucks in hand) and had a great time creating. This mini banner was created so everyone could finish the project in 90 min. which explains why I only used 3 pages from the Maya Road Mini 2‑Ring Triangle Banner...

This is a view of the landscaping in our backyard in front of our kitchen window. A view of our backyard taken while standing in front of the birch tree.
