and a little Boo to you…

Oct 10, 2010

This “Boo” would make a perfect mask if you wanted to do so. I was being a bit lazy yesterday and didn’t want to drive to the craft store to purchase a wooden dowel but the “O’s” are perfect for eye openings. This chipboard shape is covered with Jenni Bowlin paper, outlined with Platinum Stickles then covered with Martha Stewart Crystal Coarse Glitter. I then accented the upper portion of the “B” with Maya Road embellishments and some seam binding. Supplies Used: Little Yellow Bicycle Jumbo Chipboard Shapes, Jenni Bowlin (Family Tree) Cousin Rose Patterned Paper, Maya Road Crystal Star Pin, Maya Road Vintage Pearl Pin, Maya Road Felt Beaded Blossom – Brown, a Black Gelly Roll Pen, Platinum Stickles, Martha Stewart Crystal Coarse Glitter is not listed in the store but check out...

I’m not one for scary Halloween… I like cute and whimsical Halloween so when I received these cute Jumbo Chipboard Shapes from Little Yellow Bicycle I knew just what I was going to do… cover them with Jenni Bowlin pattern papers and accent them with lots of Maya Road goodies. Today, I worked on this cute little pumpkin. Tomorrow, I will show you the ghost. What a weekend…

Oct 3, 2010

Artistic Journey was AWESOME! I had so much fun meeting and creating with everyone and cannot wait to do this again… next year, right Caroline? Since I have so many photos to post I will not be too wordy and let the photos speak for themselves. Enjoy! Downtown Waxahachie and The Crafty Scrapper. Some of the attendees created tags prior to the event that were showcased in the storefront window… Laura was busy checking everyone in while Katie and Carolyn chatted with a few of the guests. Everyone got a goody bag filled with AWESOME products. Mary Lou and Kerri were always super busy at the register. Returning from having a group photo taken. Friday evening was filled with Make n Takes. Once everyone finished each station they had an adorable mini album to...

Artistic Journey

Sep 30, 2010

I have been so excited for Artistic Journey to begin and can’t believe it is finally here. Tomorrow, I head down to Waxahachie to spend three days with a wonderful group of ladies at The Crafty Scrapper. These ladies are coming from all over ready to create, make new friends, shop and have fun. Friday night will be filled with make n takes and lots of laughter. Then Saturday and Sunday, I will be teaching my shadow box class along with Katie Watson and Aubrey Rives. Katie created an adorable recipe card holder and Aubrey created a super fun and whimsical mini album. I cannot wait to see these two as I only get to see them at CHA. Laura my online vintage buddy and CHA pal will be there too as well as...

A Gray Sky and some sprinkles…

Sep 2, 2010

means it is a perfect day to work in the scraproom and what better products to play with then Jenni Bowlin and Maya Road. I have to say I am in love with Jenni’s new paints ( have not tried the inks yet but I am certain I will love them as well) the colors match exactly with all her inspiring products. I still need a few more colors of her paints and ink which I will be purchasing soon. I gotta have them all. Once I finish this mini album it will be filled with cute photos of Ansley and her friends. As you can see I started out with a Maya Road 4″ binder album, painted it with Jenni’s new paints (Chili Powder “inside”, Lemon Drops and Malted Milk “outside”) and plan...

For a great cause…

Aug 30, 2010

I was asked by Cheryl Darrow to alter a canvas however I wished for a very good cause… this canvas will be up for auction at her Breast Cancer Crop. I created this canvas using a TENseconds Studio 12″ x 12″ canvas with a nitch as well as ledger paper from 1933, vintage buttons, old book pages, scrabble tiles, rhinestones, Maya Road trim and chipboard, a vintage flower frog, Stickles and Distress Stickles. The photo inside can be removed and replaced with your own family photo. The handmade flowers are created from old book pages. The instructions on how to create these flowers can be found in my book “Delight In The Details“. I love how they look. The trim has been aged with creamy brown ink. The scallops are accented with Diamond Stickles...

Another week flew by quick…

Aug 26, 2010

Gosh my blog is taking a huge hit right now. I guess I will give you a quick run through of my week. Lots of neat things going on. First off I am super excited to be a part of Paper Cowgirl next year. I was thrilled when Cindy asked if I would be the guest speaker and a teacher at her event. This is going to be such a super fun weekend. On a sad note my grandfather has said his good byes and has told everyone he is ready to pass on. If you would please send him comforting thoughts and prayers I would really appreciate it. My Dad has been with him since last Friday. Thankfully my Aunts made it to ME yesterday to see him. So needless to say since...

Show Day 3

Jul 30, 2010

This one is a day late but by the time we finished breaking down the booth and eating dinner it was late and I was pooped. As you can see my day started out as usual at the make-n-take booth. People loved learning how to make medallion flowers. They loved it so much so that I taught 100 people how to make them. That is a lot of making and taking in 5  hours. Right before the show started I went to another one of my favorite manufacturers… Crafty Secrets.  They have some adorable items coming out. You will notice several projects using my friend Vicki Chrisman’s 3D shadow box frame dies and they are super cute. Their booth is filled with loads of vintage goodness. Notice the 3D Shadow Box Frame above… I...

Today we created flower pins using Petaloo flowers that were misted with several different colors of Maya Mist. Then we accented the center of the flower with one of the new Bingo Markers. It was a fun day and once again I had a blast meeting everyone that came by to say hi. Now how about a little Studio 490. I LOVE all the new items Wendy Vecchi is releasing. So I will just post all the eye candy and save all the WOW’s and OH MY GOODNESS, and I have to HAVE THIS for you… because honestly this is all I can think to say about her release. So enjoy. And if I don’t get this stamp set I think I might just die….is this incredible or what? So there you have it… loads...

Pre CHA day 1

Jul 25, 2010

Started my day playing with this little cutie Miss Olivia. After breakfast we headed to the convention center to start putting the booth together. The blank area you see will soon be filled with lots of Maya Road goodness.  This is Laura and Aubrey working on the walls. Once it gets past the second row I am vertically challenged. Here is Laura and David with a little organized chaos going on. It is always such an accomplished feeling once we get the walls all set up. Here is some serious organized chaos.  The ribbon wall is plain torture for me… thankfully, Caroline knows this and gives this task to someone else… Laura. I have no idea how she manages to complete this task. If it were up to me to get it done CHA would be over and you...

So here is what I have been working on and am so glad I can finally share. This album uses Maya Road products from their Summer release as well as lots of Maya Mists and Claudine Hellmuth Studio Paints. Love these paints so much. This project will be a class at The Crafty Scrapper someday in the near future… just need to figure out when. This album includes photos of my dad, mom, me and my husband Alan.
