Quick Christmas Card and the Winner…

November13

This little card took me less than 10 min. to make… world record time for me! I love this line by Heidi Grace. It is called Jolly & Bright. Everything in this line is adorable… she has some of the cutest rubon designs, tags, alphabet etc. You really need to check it out.

Heidi Grace Christmas Card

To recreate this card you will need a blank note card, one sheet each of Candy and Glitter Candy patterned paper, Alpha Punch Outs (heart) and the Add-On Punch Outs (round tag), Everyday Grace Green Ribbon Card (Ric Rac) and the Fiskars Border Punch these are so cool, they punch and emboss at the same time (a little hint when using this punch stand up and punch, it is much easier this way).

The winner of the Fiskars Stamp Press is k9mom4. Please email me your address and I will get it to you asap.

Congrats and have fun!

P.S. There is only one of my Christmas House kits left. If you want it you best get it now.

WOW… what a weekend!

November6

This past weekend I had the pleasure of going to San Antonio to attend a Fiskars Fisk-a-teers Crafting Ambassadors event. I have never attended such a well organized, fun filled, action packed training session. Brains on Fire organized a weekend I will never forget. I got to take classes given by lead Fisk-a-teers Holly, Stephenie and Cheryl as well as Heidi Grace of Heidi Grace Designs (totally adorable and the funniest storyteller ever one minute she had us laughing the next she had us grabbing Kleenex) and Nancy with Cloud 9 Design taught an adorable calendar class using many of her great paper lines . Each class was filled with loads of incredible Fiskars products. We were taught how to use each one and then got to keep everything after we finished the adorable project they had for us to create .

My roommate was Patti Church Fiskateer #377. Talk about a perfect match. I was really worried about not knowing who my roommate was going to be, because I am pretty shy in settings like that but Patti was perfect. We clicked the second we met and laughed so much by the end of each day my face hurt. She is so FUNNY and will always be a great friend. We were lucky enough to get to attend every class together and thank goodness I had her to keep me on track. With so much going on it was extremely hard for me to stay focused. I have never cut so many pieces of paper wrong in my life or gotten lost in the directions that were explained so easily a kindergarten student could have figured it out. Thankfully I had “Perfect Patti” as my keeper. She was the best and I wish she lived closer because I really miss her.

I got to FINALLY meet Jane Hasty Fiskateer #329. I have so wanted to meet her and each time the possibility came up something happened. Jane is an incredible photographer. You really need to check out her blog. It was so fun to get to know her roommate Kimberly Brock Fiskateer #1044. Talk about always looking like a “Rodeo Queen” she always looked so dang cute wearing her Fiskateer hat. Gretchen Schmidt Fiskateer #51 also sat at our table. I have chatted back and forth with her for so long and it was great to finally get to meet her. Gosh the list of people I met could go on and on. It is great to be a part of the so called “Fabulous Fifty”. Bonds were formed this weekend that I know will last a lifetime. It overwhelms me when I think about being a part of this group.

Now my next task is to train 20 people that want to become Fiskars Demonstrators in the DFW area. If you are interested in teaching and want to become a Fiskateer Ambassador look for one of the “Fabulous Fifty” in your area. If you made it this far in my post I feel it only right to offer a RAK. Just leave a comment about your favorite Fiskars product and I will place your name into a drawing for a Stamp Press.

Christmas Sampler

October18

I created this Christmas Sampler using lots of products by Heidi Grace. Her new Jolly & Bright line was released at CHA-S and is it ever adorable! I love the red and pink color combination and her whimsical designs are cute, cute, cute! Heidi’s line includes double sided paper, glitter paper, flocked paper, punch-outs, embossed chipboard, rub-ons, printed flowers and lots more.

Christmas Sampler

And you know I couldn’t do a project without using some wonderful Maya Road products. I accented my Sampler using several… Birds of a Feather, Dark Red Velvet Ric Rac, Antique Keys, Mega Bottlecaps, Motif Chipboard Set (House), Snowflakes and Hearts.

Christmas Sampler

I’m not sure what I’m going to work on today as I have a few ideas in my head right now. I have a feeling it will be created with either Heidi Grace or Cloud 9 and of course some Maya Road. Will post tomorrow.

Wishing you all a wonderful day.

Class project #3

October17

Another project down and who knows how many more are in store. Right now I seem to be on a creative roll and am churning out projects like crazy. Here is part of a Foofy project I finished yesterday. I plan on hanging it in my scraproom. I love tulle and vintage glass glitter. To me this combination is the best. I hope to teach this at local scrapbook stores. Once I finish creating I will be hitting the roads showing all my projects to local scrapbook stores in hopes some will want me to teach a few classes. I will keep you posted. If you are not local and would like me to teach at your local scrapbook store please e-mail me.

Foof project #3

Right now I am working on a Christmas Sampler using an 11 x 14 canvas, some Heidi Grace papers and embellishments and of course LOTS of Maya Road. I can’t wait to share this one… it is pretty darn cute.

YEEE Haw!

September22

I have been invited to attend a Fiskateer Roundup in San Antonio, Texas November 2nd – 4th! This is an all expense paid trip where I will be taught how to use all the wonderful Fiskars products. Then I can teach others in my area how to use them too.

It is going to be fun getting to talk to Stephenie, Cheryl and Holly (hopefully May but not sure since she has a pretty new baby girl to care for at home) for more than just a few minutes. I get to see them at CHA but it is always so quick as we are so busy in our booths or are stopping by in between a quick lunch break. We get to meet Heidi Grace of Heidi Grace Designs, Nancy Martinez of Cloud 9 Designs, Julie McGuffee of PBS, Suzanne Walker of Fiskars TV, Michele Dougherty Dean of AC Moore College of Crafting and Rachel Wright the Director of Education from JoAnn’s.

If you would like to become a Fiskars Fisk-A-Teer just visit this link and you will be one step closer to becoming a Fisk-A-Teer Crafting Ambassador.

Happy July 1st…

July1

Can someone please tell me where June went? Man that month just flew right on by. I cannot believe it is July 1st… really, time never flew by this fast when I was ughh dare I type this… younger!

I was asked by May Flaum to create a project for the Fiskateer blog using some products by Heidi Grace. She wanted it to have a patriotic theme and this is what I created. I used a star paper mache box from the July Cocoa Daisy kit, Heidi Grace Ribbons, brads and rub ons and chipboard stars from the Motifs chipboard set by Maya Road. This is a fun little project to create. You just can’t help but pick it up and look at it.
