Leather Bracelets

Mar 17, 2014

To create these three bracelets I used a fun product called Metal Complex Flat Leather. They are pre-packaged leather strips that measure 10 x 2mm and come in a wide assortment of color groups. The color group shown here is the Yellow/Steel Grey Metallic group. Metal Complex also has available 5mm spools in 20 different colors as well as 3mm spools of colored faux snake leather. What I love about this product is you can leave the leather strips as is like I did with the top bracelet. This is just how the leather strip looks when taken out of the packaging. For the middle bracelet, I decided to see if I could emboss the leather strip using my Sizzix Big Shot and an embossing folder. It worked beautifully and the embossing was perfect....

Cleaning Out The Studio

Dec 3, 2013

I know I have been bombarding you all with kits, art and other items in my Etsy shop but seriously, I have got to get this studio cleaned  out and under-control. I do not have room for any additional product not one bit more. It’s terrible and Santa will put me on the bad list if he sees this mess. Thank goodness I don’t have a little elf on the shelf to rat me out or I would be super worried. So since I’m cleaning out I am passing on some awesome product deals. I just listed a Scrapbook Embellishment Grab Box that comes to you filled with lots of assorted Maya Road products that’s perfect for any scrapbook or craft enthusiast and get this, SHIPPING is FREE on this item! Most of you should know by now that I have a serious LOVE for Stickles, especially Diamond and Platinum! When teaching these two are a given for items needed in class. I use Stickles on pretty much everything I create and I have a saying about them too, “Stickles is to Crafters what Botox is to Plastic Surgeons. You can always use a little somewhere”. If you are a crafter that does not like loose glitter Stickles is a product for you. It’s easy to use and there is zero mess. So today, I’m going to show you how I use a little or a lot on my projects. Diamond Stickles is a great way to give a simple flower a little pop. All you need to do is apply a small amount onto...

Stamp Embossed Clay Charms

Mar 1, 2013

Here is a really cool tip… when creating polymer clay charms use chipboard embellishments for templates. This is exactly what I did when creating these adorable dress charms for my nieces. I used the chipboard dress from the Maya Road Laundry Day mini chipboard set to create these two charms. All I did was roll out my polymer clay to the thickness I wanted, placed the mini chipboard dress on top of the clay then using a craft knife carefully cut around the chipboard dress. How simple is that! And here are a few other cool tips… to get the butterfly image onto the dresses I pressed the Maya Road Ornate Butterflies stamp set into the polymer clay. Stamps are a great way to emboss polymer clay. To add words to each dress I used...

Using the products listed below is a really quick way to create cute embellishments and accents for any project. To create your portable palette of alcohol inks simply apply enough drops of each alcohol ink color to cover each of the inside circles in the palette as shown above, let the alcohol inks dry and you are ready to go. You fill the Adirondack Alcohol Ink Fillable Pen just as the instructions on the back of the packaging instruct only you use Adirondack Alcohol Blending Solution instead of Alcohol Inks. Handmade Embellishments

Nov 13, 2012

I’m having so much fun playing and creating. This week, I finished up a cute mini monogram charm and when I say mini I mean mini, it is only .5′ x .75″ and four mini embellishments. I’m thinking about putting some of these in my online store but wanted to get a little bit of feedback to see if these are something you all would like to use in your creations. They are perfect to accent cards, tags, layouts and other projects. So let me know what you think, if you don’t mind. This set of embellishments range in size from .5″ – .75″. and can be almost any color combination, which is the real fun part. I enjoy adding the color and glitter and watching each one transform into tiny unique pieces of...

Each night, I’ve been making embellishments to use in projects and jewelry. I’ve loved experimenting with several different mediums, EnviroTex Resin being one and wanted to show you the three embellishments I finished, last night. I’m not sure what I’m going to use these pieces on but right now I just like looking at them. They are sparkly & shiny and will look awesome accenting a vintage project. Wishing you a wonderful weekend....
