Want to see some pages inside my book…

Nov 28, 2009

Oh I love having a techy DH. Alan added photos of the inside of my book to this post. If you want to see them check it out. I love seeing the pages in color as pretty much all I have seen is black and white. I can hardly wait to get my two advanced copies… I am counting down the days as it should be sometime in December. You will all here a huge scream when they arrive. I tell ya my Editor Kristin Boys (love, love, love her so much… seriously she is the sweetest person and such a pleasure to work with… I’m so glad my book landed on her desk) Designer Corrie Schaffeld, Production Coordinator Greg Nock, Photographers Christine Polomsky (it was a BLAST getting to work with Christine in...

Digging, digging and digging…

Oct 13, 2009

My goodness is it ever so obvious when you look at my vintage stash just how much I love vintage Christmas items. But since my dad is Santa I guess this is to be expected. I have been pulling items out like a mad woman as I prepare for my next online workshop… the CHRISTMAS workshop. Oh how I love to create Christmas projects. I have a list of things to create that I think are going to make a charming holiday workshop. The name is still yet to be determined so I had a thought… leave a title idea in the comments section of this post. If your title is picked you will win a free access pass to the workshop. If no title is picked I will have Ansley pick one person...

Cocoa Daisy Layouts…

Jun 1, 2009

I finally get to share the layouts I created using this months kit by Cocoa Daisy. As you can see the June Kit and the Add On Kit are very versatile. It was loads of fun playing the Daisy Divas once again. I used Vintage Photo Distress Ink to darken the Eyelet Cardstock. Traced a dinner plate to create the circle out of patterned paper, cut out leaves and butterflies from a piece of Webster’s Pages patterned paper using a craft knife, attached Maya Road green pom pom trim around the edge, created a scallop border using scallop scissors and a paper piercer, accented the horizontal strip with self adhesive pearls then used my sewing machine to add additional texture by sewing a straight stitch along the circle and horizontal strip. I wanted this layout...

Fun little game…

Apr 3, 2009

So I just finished my 90th project for my book. This means I only have 10 more projects left to finish. I thought it would be fun to give a Maya Road RAK to the person that comes closest to the date (without going over) of when I will complete my 100th book project. All you have to do is leave a comment with the date and the person closest will win the RAK…. if two people guess the same date Ansley will pick the lucky winner. Oh just so you know my final deadline is May 5th. So don’t guess after this date. We are to the half way point in my Hippity Hop Easter Workshop. The last day for this workshop is April 18th. If you want to join in and create...

Getting back in the groove…

Dec 30, 2008

Today I have about as much energy as a slug. Getting back into the groove after all the hustle and bustle of last minute holiday preparations always seems to be hard for me. We open presents at our house on Christmas Eve. I love baking cookies all morning and afternoon, cooking the dinner and watching Ansley go nuts counting down the hours until we open presents.  It is all so much fun and seeing happy faces on our girls is honestly the best gift ever. We had a wonderful visit with my mom and dad as well as my sister and her family. Alan, Ansley and I left to head down to Beaumont Christmas day. I love going home on Christmas day. Having the car filled with gifts and the excitement of seeing everyone...

Auction for a friend…

Oct 8, 2008

UPDATE… The auction should now work in Internet Explorer. Please let me know if you have any trouble. I write this post with a very heavy heart. Yesterday, a very dear friend of mine in the scrapbooking community unexpectedly lost her husband. Honestly, when I think of her and her two young boys (ages 4 and 7) as hard as I try to hold back my tears they just seem to come anyway. One minute her simple world is perfect then the next… tragic. I feel so helpless and wish I was closer to help but geographically this is not possible. So I have decided to hold an auction to raise a bit of money to help ease the financial burden that has occurred. I am giving 100% of the money raised from my...

Dad says differently but in Dad’s defense Juanita wasn’t a very popular name back then… Well that night Dad called her house to tell her Mom and Dad that Juanita would not be coming home tonight.

A few “Getting to know you” Christmas Questions…

Dec 6, 2007

Here is a fun “Getting to know you” Christmas questionnaire. When the girls were little we opened one on Christmas eve and the rest Christmas morning, now we celebrate on Christmas Eve. I love the room dark with just the glow from our tree and a few years ago it actually snowed here on Christmas Eve.

Early Morning…

I can’t tell you how many times Dad and I as well as my brother and sister had to sit in the car waiting for Mom to go back in the house while she made sure the coffee pot or iron was unplugged.
