I love small houses…

May 11, 2010

I could create an entire village out of this old fashioned putz style house. Really, there are so many wonderful ways to decorate this sweet little house. I have other patterns in my head to create as well but I wanted something simple this go around. I like the simplicity of the black paint against the old book page. Also the accented star… it’s a Texas thing in gold German glass glitter really adds a nice pop of color to the front. Oh and don’t forget the crystal coarse glitter, it adds the perfect amount of sparkle. Tips, Techniques and Tutorials I have been super busy creating some new technique classes to teach at The Crafty Scrapper in Waxahachie. My “Diamonds Are A Girl’s Best Friend” Technique Class will be taught June 12th at...

Vintage Ledger Paper and other stuff

Mar 10, 2010

Here is a sweet purchase I made at Crop-Paper-Scissors after I finished teaching my classes this past weekend. As you all know I love vintage ledger paper (they have more… just saying) and use it in all kinds of different ways… covering chipboard and tags, mixing it with vintage sheet music and book pages to create unique paper flowers, using it in my die cutter and one thing I REALLY LOVE doing is saving the blank margins to type journaling strips for projects. This keeps the vintage feel and theme of the project authentic. So don’t throw away any of your scraps, not even the tiniest of tiny ones. You will use them. And this little receipt book is going to make some adorable embellishments in projects. I feel so lucky to have found...

That little word Acceptance…

Mar 2, 2010

Little did I know just how perfect this one little word would be this year. I guess I should keep it real with this post and explain why I have been pretty much absent since returning from CHA. My daughter Ansley who by the way just turned 16 on the 28th has been diagnosed with Panic Disorder. She had her first full blown attack the first night I was at CHA. Her attacks look like seizures they are so intense and seeing her have them breaks my heart. She has not been able to attend school and has now been placed on Homebound. We do see improvement and are hoping that she will be back on track in a month, fingers crossed. So with all that being said taking care of Ansley 24/7 and...

It’s a Texas Winter Wonderland…

Feb 12, 2010

and I am loving it!!! Here are a few photos from around our house that I thought I would share. This is a record snowfall for us Dallas/Fort Worth Texans. Looking down and across the street while standing in our driveway. The birch tree in our back yard. These are trees in our front yard peeking over the backyard fence. This is a view of the landscaping in our backyard in front of our kitchen window. A view of our backyard taken while standing in front of the birch tree. As you can see this is going to be a perfect scrapbooking day. I will be finishing up my second class to be taught at Crop, Paper, Scissors in Waco, March 6th. This is really going to be a fun day. I will be...

What was I thinking?

Feb 11, 2010

Seriously, I had no idea I would have such a wonderful response over my book. I honestly put my heart and soul into each project and wrote in the hopes that you would feel like we were sitting at the kitchen table chatting. You all have been so incredibly wonderful and I thank you so much. This being said I had NO idea I would be so busy after I came home from CHA. My feet hit the floor running. Everyone that purchased a book from me… it is on the way so start stalking the mailman now. I have been answering email like crazy so if you sent me one and I have not responded as of yet please know I am answering them as quickly as I can. I am also designing...

What a fun weekend…

Oct 13, 2008

This weekend I stayed in Waxahachie with some of the Maya Road girls… Caroline, Jessica, Aubrey and Wendy. I gotta tell you, Wendy taught some of the most inspiring classes all day Saturday and all day Sunday at the Crafty Scrapper. If you ever see that Wendy Vecchi is coming to a store near you I say run and sign up as fast as you can. You do NOT want to miss any of her classes. Wendy is the first person I have ever taken a class from and I want more. She taught me so many great techniques that I plan on carrying over into future projects. Thanks Wendy for all the inspiration. This little album is one I created in Wendy’s Fragments class. Wendy has you bring scraps of paper, rubons and...
