Thursday evening started off with a meet and greet, friendship token swap and then all the other incredible swaps. It was a blast and my name badge is filled with lots of super fun friendship tokens. After the meet and greet Cindy Mayfield our host introduced all the teachers. There were some incredible teachers at this event and all kinds of...

4 Chapters and 2 Promos…

Mar 31, 2011

Are in the can!!! Today, we worked it and got 13 techniques shot with 30 min. left in the day. So Jenni and I started organizing for the two technique videos I”ll be shooting tomorrow. I will be so glad when tomorrow is over. I’ve worried about shooting these videos all week long. But Jenni says it will all be okay and I have nothing to worry about. It’s so strange as I can talk to anyone, have taught at CHA, have instructed 1,000’s of make-n-takes, taught classes without any fear but pull that camera out and I freeze up. If I lose my fear of the camera tomorrow Amy Coon wont know how to act. Every time she comes to the Maya Road booth at CHA I want to just take off running...

What a busy week…

Nov 24, 2010

I hope you all are getting ready to enjoy a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday with friends and family. We will be having a very slow paced day tomorrow. This year we are staying put as we decided to do our traveling to see family for Christmas. I must admit it will be nice to just relax and not worry about entertaining or traveling. This Thanksgiving I am getting off so easy… all Ansley requested is “Stove Top” stuffing and a pumpkin pie!!! Can you believe that… Ansley is not a big turkey eater and Alan doesn’t want me to go to all the trouble of cooking for just us three. So they got major brownie points with me this Thanksgiving. I’m thinking a big pot of stew or chili will be great to eat while...

Show Day 1

Jul 27, 2010

What a whirlwind of a day… One minute into the show I had a line waiting to create my make-n-take and 5 hours later all 78 were done. Then did some demos on how to make a really cute flower using our satin pleat trim. Tomorrow’s make-n-take will be creating a flower that has been misted with several different colors of Maya Mist… then the center will be one of the new bingo pieces. AND the giveaway is awesome… just saying. So stop by in the morning so you don’t miss out. From 11:00 to 11:30 I will have a book signing at the R & M booth #2025. So if you would like one of my books make sure you get there first thing at 11:00 as I will need to leave right...

Doing the major Happy Dance…

Mar 15, 2010

Before I dropped off all the items I was donating to Frisco Resale I decided to stop in and take a look for any old books they might have sitting around… well no books were to be found but I did score this wonderful little set.… I nearly fainted when I saw these sitting on the shelf. Seriously I could not get to them fast enough… I got all of these for under $15.00. From what I can find out this is Pink Frosted Mayfair Open Rose Depression glass. It was made in the 1930’s and I LOVE it! I plan on taking these with me when I teach and filling the bowl with German Glass Glitter, sorted buttons will be placed in the relish dish and the platter and sugar and creamer will...

Some explaining to do…

Mar 5, 2009

Right now if there were a contest for the worst blogger I would win hands down. But I really do have good reasons… The entire week of Feb. 16th I was swamped with book projects and last minute details for my upcoming photo shoot in Cincinnati, OH.  So that week was a total blur of creative frenziness. Feb. 22nd I flew to Cincinnati to work with Christine Polomsky the photographer for F & W Publications. Talk about a wonderful experience. If you have a book idea I 100% recommend you send a proposal to this company. Everyone I came in contact with was wonderful and on top of every last detail. Which you all knowing how detail oriented I am made me so happy. Feb. 23rd I spent all day in the studio photographing...
