I spy…

Aug 6, 2010

a really messy bar and kitchen table. The bar is loaded with lots of fun things I purchased while in Maine and West Virginia and the kitchen table is filled with stuff I have been using this week. You too can have this mess if your scraproom is so out of control you need to ask your neighbor to help you come organize…. next week hopefully all that you see will fit into my scraproom. Pray for me that Jennifer does not leave the second she sees what I have done. You will spy with your little eyes vintage milk bottle caps (for my future Christmas online workshop), German glass glitter, bag full of vintage tinsel and aluminum garland (more items for an online workshop), old bottles to be cleaned and filled with vintage...

New Products I love…

Jan 16, 2010

Since Maya Road sneak peeks will continue Monday I thought I would show you a few products already revealed that I really love. I love how gorgeous this Red Medallion Flower accented with a Crystal and Vintage Black Pearl Pin looks next to an Uppercase Philadelphia Chipboard letter that is altered with fine silver german glass glitter. You can bet I will be tinting some Crystal Pins with my copic markers or alcohol inks using this Tim’s cool fillable pen in the near future. I love how cute this heart and arrow from the Love Mini Chipboard Set looks altered with vintage sheet music and fine silver german glass glitter. It is attached to one of the Mixed Scallop Triangle Banners from the Mini Set. And I think this button from the Mini Button...

Crepe Paper Ornament and Bottle Brush Trees

Dec 5, 2009

Friday night I was lucky enough to get to chat online as a guest with a bunch of Fisk-a-teers during their online crop. I tell ya if you want to chat with a fun group…you want to make sure you attend the next one. Before the chat I created these two projects in their honor. So I thought I would share the step by step instructions for the ornament with you. (no instructions for the large tree at the bottom of this post as I think you can figure it out pretty simply) You can make a similar ornament for yourself by changing the color of the crepe paper (Red, Green or Blue), Maya Road Maya Mists (Red) and beads. This is a really fun ornament to make and you all know I have...

Vintage Doily Basket…

Oct 30, 2009

I think this doily basket is the perfect size to hold items for a fun filled vintage themed holiday swap. Once filled and wrapped in cellophane then tied with red and white baker’s twine and accented with holly leaves and berries… well you have a perfect gift. If a vintage holiday swap is not in your future this vintage doily basket would also look sweet sitting on a co-workers desk filled with peppermints or other holiday candies. Several hanging on a feather tree filled with goodies would be cute too… as you can see there are lots of possibilities for this sweet basket. Instructions: Completely saturate a Cotton Crocheted Doily using Aleene’s Stiffen Quick. Place the wet doily over the cap of a 32 oz. Gatorade bottle (this is the perfect size for this...

Noel…

Oct 29, 2009

And for you, SURPRISE another Christmas project. I have a feeling this year Old Fashioned Mica Snowflakes are going to be on everything! For the time being this little gem will sit in my curio cabinet until I can find it’s perfect little holiday spot.  I love how the light catches the glitter, tinsel and mica snowflakes… it is so sparkly. Tomorrow, I will share a little project that will make the cutest holiday swap gift. Instructions: First pull out the cord hanger on the ornament as you will not need it. Paint a cube shaped paper mache ornament using a Manila colored acrylic paint. Once dry ink lightly the edges using ColorBox Fluid Chalk Ink in Creamy Brown. While the ornament is drying bleach three different sized Bottle Brush trees (4.5″, 3.5″, 2.5″)...

Oak Leaves Cluster…

Aug 26, 2009

Can you tell fall is heavy on my mind? I cannot wait for some cooler weather. But for now it looks like another hot day here in Texas. I have no idea how these High School football players practice in 100 degree temps… nuts I tell ya. Anyway on to my post and more thoughts of fall. As you can see I am really loving my new Cuttlebug Leaf Dies and thought I would show you the cute cluster of leaves I created using the oak leaf die. This literally took me 15 min. to create from start to finish. And the tiny Maya Road Hanging Chandelier Beads are a great accent for acorns. They catch the light beautifully and will look great on a candlelit table setting. This leaf cluster would look really...
