Nov 29, 2010

If you are wondering what this title means well it means loads of creative fun as “Winter Magpie” is the name of the December kit at Cocoa Daisy. I am so lucky as I got to play with this kit because I am their December Guest Designer. When Christine asked me I was thrilled. Then as she was telling me about all the wonderful products she incorporated in the kit I felt it was so ME and could not wait to start creating. Her kits are always gorgeous and so inspiring. Here are the projects I created using this kit… 2 layouts, a card and a gift card holder. Live life with Joy…

Oct 18, 2010

My newest online workshop “Live life with Joy” is a mixed media online workshop using Claudine Hellmuth’s Studio Paints. If you have not tried her paints I highly suggest you do so as they are incredible. I really like them as they are not chalky as some acrylic paints can be and their colors are wonderful. You can use them as they are or mix them to make awesome colors. In this online workshop you’re going to need to get your apron, wipes and paper towels handy because this one is all about Claudine Hellmuth Studio Paints and Maya Road Maya Mist so it is going to get messy! You will alter the canvas cover and two canvas pages of your album using Claudine’s paints; create colorful glazes to use with stencils. Accent areas...

Jenni Bowlin Paint Dabbers…

Sep 13, 2010

Did you know Jenni Bowlin now has acrylic paint dabbers and ink pads that match her color schemes perfectly? Well if you didn’t she sure does and they are awesome. I got to play with some while creating this mini album for a guest blog post on her Inspiration blog. I love Chili Powder as it is a wonderful shade of red. I used the Chili Powder, Lemon Drop, Malted Milk and Fountain Pen when creating this mini album. If you want to see photos of the inside visit her Inspiration blog… And I cannot believe I head for Greece this Friday. I am running around like a crazy woman getting all my last minute items and hoping everything will fit into one suitcase… I really do not want to bring two. Thankfully I...

A Gray Sky and some sprinkles…

Sep 2, 2010

means it is a perfect day to work in the scraproom and what better products to play with then Jenni Bowlin and Maya Road. I have to say I am in love with Jenni’s new paints ( have not tried the inks yet but I am certain I will love them as well) the colors match exactly with all her inspiring products. I still need a few more colors of her paints and ink which I will be purchasing soon. I gotta have them all. Once I finish this mini album it will be filled with cute photos of Ansley and her friends. As you can see I started out with a Maya Road 4″ binder album, painted it with Jenni’s new paints (Chili Powder “inside”, Lemon Drops and Malted Milk “outside”) and plan...

Heritage Pennant

May 17, 2010

This is one of my favorite photos of my Mom and her Mother. I am guessing this photo was taken around 1944. I think photo booth photos are the best. So wanting to be able to see this photo more often I decided to create a little heritage style pennant. Now I can display it however I wish. Tips, Techniques and Tutorials I had a super fun Saturday at The Crafty Scrapper. I took two soldering classes 101 and 201. Trisha is a great teacher. If you ever have a chance to take a class from her I suggest you do. You will be so happy you did. I will show you some of the charms I made later in the week. Have a great day. I love small houses…

May 11, 2010

I could create an entire village out of this old fashioned putz style house. Really, there are so many wonderful ways to decorate this sweet little house. I have other patterns in my head to create as well but I wanted something simple this go around. I like the simplicity of the black paint against the old book page. Also the accented star… it’s a Texas thing in gold German glass glitter really adds a nice pop of color to the front. Oh and don’t forget the crystal coarse glitter, it adds the perfect amount of sparkle. Tips, Techniques and Tutorials I have been super busy creating some new technique classes to teach at The Crafty Scrapper in Waxahachie. My “Diamonds Are A Girl’s Best Friend” Technique Class will be taught June 12th at...

Heading home

Apr 15, 2010

Jessica and I finished our last project yesterday. I can’t believe I head home this afternoon. This was one fast paced week. The sneak peek of the sampler album uses one of the fabric flowers we made earlier in the week. I think accenting the flower with the vintage bottle cap worked out perfectly. You will be seeing more of this album in the near future. And Jessica and I thought you might enjoy this photo of our creative mess… creating is so much more fun than putting up. We made a huge mess but fun was had and that was all the...
