Here is a super simple flower you can create using silver foil cupcake liners. I think this would make a wonderful flower/bow attached to a gift bag or present, or create several and place them as a decoration on the branches of your Christmas tree. You could create a garland buy attaching them to string or baker’s twine to hang in a window or drape along a mantel. You could even create ornaments to hang on your tree or place them in a wreath… I could go on and on with ideas for this simple flower.

To create one flower all you need are three silver foil cupcake liners, one gold jingle bell, scissors and glue dots. Cut three foil cupcake liners as I did here… just don’t cut the hole in the center of the liner. Stack them on top of each other using a glue dot to secure each layer in place. Using a glue dot attach a medium sized gold jingle bell in the center of the top flower. Bend the petals into shape by curling some up and down to give your flower dimension and that is it! Super simple and something I think kids would love to make too.

With all the snow lots of my friends seem to be having as of late I thought this might be a fun project to document their snow days. This tag can be used as an ornament for the tree or for an accent in any room of your house.
I have always loved this photo of my Mom back in 1957. Salem, West Virginia, where my mom grew up had a snow storm that winter that left her little town looking like a winter wonderland. Her dog poochie loved playing outside with her in the snow as you can see from the photo. I find it kind of amusing that Mom and Dad had the same knickname growing up of “Dickie” and their dogs had the same name of “Poochie”.

Supplies Used:
Maya Road Oval Scallop Coaster Album
Maya Road Bethany Mini Chipboard Alphabet
Maya Road Mini Snowflakes Chipboard Set
Maya Road Hanging Chandelier Beads

Small Scallop Scissors
Scissors
Sanding Block

Instructions:

- Using a glue stick apply adhesive to the front of two oval scallop pages and attach to your patterned paper.
- Using a craft knife and craft mat carefully cut around the oval scallop pages, sand the edges using a sanding block.
- Apply a clear drying liquid adhesive along the edges of the scallop coaster and generously apply glitter, let dry.
- Accent around the inside portion of the scallop with Platinum Stickles dots, let dry.
- Attach rhinestones to the center of some snowflakes on the patterned paper
- Gather a piece of white crepe paper streamers cut to approximately 18″ in lenght, thread a sewing needle with three strands of embroidery floss (any color will be fine as it will not show) begin gathering at one end and continue to the opposite end. Once finished gathering space the crepe paper evenly so it fits onto the chipboard piece as shown above. Attach it to the back of the front oval scallop.
- Cut a piece of white seam binding to create your hanger. Using a strong liquid adhesive attach the hanger to the back of the chipboard page.
- Using a strong liquid adhesive attach the second oval scallop page to the back. Basically you are sandwiching the gathered crepe paper in between the two chipboard pages.
- Trim the edges using pinking shears then accent the edges using Platinum Stickles.

- Paint a mini chipboard snowflake with silver metallic paint, let dry.
- Cover the painted snowflake with a clear drying liquid adhesive, generously apply fine German silver glass glitter, tap off excess, let dry. Attach a rhinestone to the center of the glittered snowflake.

- Paint mini chipboard letters white, let dry.
- Apply a clear drying liquid adhesive on top of each letter, generously apply glitter, tap off excess, let dry.
- Create a hanger and bow using white seam binding.
- Create a mat for your photo using a solid piece of cardstock, accent the edges using scallop scissors, attach your photo to the mat.
- Now attach the photo, glittered snowflake, glittered letters, seam binding and hanging chandelier piece as shown.
- Create your journaling strips, accent the edges using Diamond Stickles, let dry. Once dry attach to the scallop tag.

Well we did it… all 12 pockets are completed. Now to arrange them and onto my canvas and alter that up a bit. Will get to work on it and show you the finished project soon. This is going to be a fun thing to do with Ansley during her Christmas break. There’s nothing like having a little something fun to do each day.

- Stamp image onto heavy weight white cardstock, ink on top of stamped image using Distress Ink, lightly color image using jewel tone chalks.
- Place glossy accents onto the back of a Fragments Charm and attach to stamped image. Using Alcohol Ink, ink the top of the Fragments Charm, accent the Fragments Charm with Distress Stickles, let dry. Once the Distress Stickles is dry apply a clear drying adhesive to the edge of the Fragments Charm and apply Gold German Glass Glitter to the edge, let dry. Once dry tie a piece of white seam binding on top.
- Cover the front top half of a 1 3/8″ x 2 3/4″ office tag with patterned paper, fold the end up to create a pocket, cover the folded part of the pocket with patterned paper, stitch around the tag to secure the pocket, distress the edges, ink the edges using ColorBox Fluid Chalk Ink – Creamy Brown, apply Silver German Glass Glitter randomly to the edges of the pocket.
- Attach a vintage button to the top center of the tag.
- Accent the tag using a Red Dresden Border, a miniature gold angel and the altered Fragments Charm.
- Cut a piece of Kraft paper and create a strip to write one fun holiday thing to do that day, fold in half and place inside the pocket.

The White Seam Binding is in my “Holiday Sweet Treats” packet. When you purchase a “Holiday Sweet Treats” packet and my “Glistening Snow Glitter” Mixture (only one left) at the same time I include a few extra surprise embellishments.

While sitting in the Doctor’s office this morning with Ansley (poor girl has a terrible sore throat but a shot and antibiotics will fix her in no time) I saw this really neat idea in one of the magazines. I cannot remember which magazine I saw this in but find it rather amusing that I can remember how to make the entire project step for step… does not make sense at all. Anyway, these are super easy to make and will look so pretty attached to white lights wrapped around some garland. They remind me of the old aluminum foil reflectors used in the 60’s.

Supplies Used: Foil Cupcake Liners Tools Used: Scissors
Instructions:
- Fold cupcake liner in half four times.
- Using Scissors snip the top portion of the cupcake liner as shown in the photo below.

- Unfold the cupcake liner. It should look like the photo shown below. If you want the reflector to have less points fold the cupcake liner three times instead.

- Cut a small hole in the center of the cupcake liner as shown below. Make sure the hole is smaller than you want as these are fragile and the hole will tear easily.

- Place the cupcake liner over a small white light. I love how the light reflects off the liner. These are so simple to make and really are so pretty. (Sorry for the bad photos… a tad bit gloomy here today for good photos) This would be something fun for kids to make too.

We are so close to finishing up this 12 Day Advent Pocket Calendar. I find this a fun way to keep the holidays going during Ansley’s winter break and it helps with the sting of having to go back to school… just a little something to look forward to each day after Christmas. And I decided to give you a peek at how I am arranging the pockets. This is far from being finished as I need to add some trim and other embellishments but at least this way you can see the method to my madness. Just two empty spots left to fill. I love how today’s pocket worked out… the little jester doll looks as though he is throwing a snowball.. too cute!

Once dry tie a piece of green seam binding on top.
- Accent the tag using a Red Dresden Border, Metallic Pom Pom and the altered Fragments Charm.
- Cut a piece of Kraft paper and create a strip to write one fun holiday thing to do that day, fold in half and place inside the pocket.

The Red Seam Binding and Metallic Pom Pom (color will vary silver, red or green) are in my “Holiday Sweet Treats” packet. When you purchase a “Holiday Sweet Treats” packet and my “Glistening Snow Glitter” Mixture (only one left) at the same time I include a few extra surprise embellishments.

Friday night I was lucky enough to get to chat online as a guest with a bunch of Fisk-a-teers during their online crop. I tell ya if you want to chat with a fun group…you want to make sure you attend the next one. Before the chat I created these two projects in their honor. So I thought I would share the step by step instructions for the ornament with you. (no instructions for the large tree at the bottom of this post as I think you can figure it out pretty simply) You can make a similar ornament for yourself by changing the color of the crepe paper (Red, Green or Blue), Maya Road Maya Mists (Red) and beads. This is a really fun ornament to make and you all know I have a serious addiction to altering these bottle brush trees. I just cannot seem to make enough of them.

Supplies Needed:
1 – 2.5” Bottle Brush Tree
Maya Road Maya Mist – Orange, Red
Lime Green Glass Beads
White and Orange Crepe Paper Streamer
Embroidery Floss – White
White Seam Binding or Ribbon
Fiskars Scalloped Punch: Seal Of Approval – Extra Large
Vintage Sheet Music
ColorBox Fluid Chalk Ink – Tangerine
Golden Rod Stickles
White Cardstock
Bleach
Tools Used:
Pinking Scissors
Micro Tip Scissors
Sewing Needle
Fabri-Tac
Hot Glue Gun
Instructions:
- Place a 2.5” bottle brush tree into a mixture of 1 part bleach to 2 parts water. I use my bathroom sink. Make sure you are in a well ventilated area. Some trees might take a bit more bleach than others. Just experiment with the mixture until you get your tree completely bleached out. Once the bleaching is complete rinse the tree off well. Pat dry.
- Line your sink with paper towels, place your tree onto the paper towels and mist your tree with Orange Maya Road Maya Mist. Blot off the excess mist from your tree and let dry. Throw away the paper towels and rinse out the sink.
- To create your crepe paper rosette cut one 12” strip from a white and orange crepe paper streamer.
- Thread a sewing needle with 3 strands of embroidery floss. Begin gathering at one end of the orange crepe paper streamer, about 1/8” from the edge of the streamer, continue gathering to the opposite end. Pull the ends together tightly and double knot your floss. Repeat this process with the white crepe paper streamer.
- After you have double knotted the floss on the white crepe paper streamer trim the rosette using pinking scissors so that the diameter is approximately 3”.
- Using Golden Rod Stickles, accent the edges of the orange and white crepe paper rosettes, let dry.
- Cut a piece of white seam binding to approximately 18” in length; tie the ends together leaving about 2” of ribbon at the end of the knot. Place the seam binding in the center of the orange crepe paper rosette leaving the knot at the edge of the bottom of the crepe paper rosette. See photo. Attach the white crepe paper rosette on top of the orange crepe paper rosette and white seam binding using a strong liquid adhesive.
- Using a Scalloped Squeeze Punch, punch one round scalloped circle out of vintage sheet music.
- Accent the edges of the scalloped circle using Golden Rod Stickles, let dry.
- Using a strong liquid adhesive attach the scallop to the center of the white crepe paper rosette.
- Type or print your sentiment “Merry Fisk-a-mas” onto white cardstock
- Using scissors cut out the sentiment to create a journaling strip snip the ends to form a “v”, accent the edges using ColorBox Fluid Chalk Ink in Tangerine. Accent the edges of the journaling strip using Golden Rod Stickles, let dry.
- Attach the journaling strip onto the center of the scalloped circle making sure your words will not be covered when attaching the bottle brush tree.
- Using a hot glue gun attach 6 lime green glass beads to your orange bottle brush tree.
- Cut out a small star from chipboard, paint it gold, apply a clear drying adhesive, generously apply gold German glass glitter, tap off excess, let dry.
- Using scissors trim off part of the back of the bristles on your bottle brush tree so the back of the tree will attach as flat as possible to the ornament.
- Once the star is dry using a strong adhesive attach the star to the top of the bottle brush tree.
- Using a strong liquid adhesive attach the orange bottle brush tree on top of the center of the scalloped circle

I gotta say I am impressed with myself today… two big blog posts in one day…. As promised here are the instructions for this sweet snowman ornament that was part of Debby’s 12 Days of Home for the Holidays. You want to make sure to keep checking Debby’s blog because she has a new designer featured each day. I love reading how others preserve their holiday traditions. How do you preserve yours?

Instructions:
- Using a paintbrush apply Manila paint all along the sides of your paper mache ornament, let dry.
- Cover the top of your ornament with vintage sheet music.
- Using ColorBox Fluid Chalk Ink – Creamy Brown, ink the edges of the paper mache ornament.
- Using a paintbrush apply Collage Pauge Decoupage – Glossy all over the top of the vintage sheet music and the sides of the paper mache ornament, generously apply crystal coarse glitter, tap off excess, let dry.
- Trace your paper mache ornament onto cream felt. Using scallop scissors cut out the ornament shape on the outside edge of the traced mark. This will give you a cute scallop border when you attach it to the back of your ornament. I used Fabri-Tac to attach my felt piece.
- Using a Sizzix Big Shot and Snowman die cut out a snowman from cream felt then cut out the scarf and nose out of a piece of fabric remnant.
- Thread a sewing needle with three strands of cream embroidery floss, stitch a back stitch all around the snowman’s body.
- Thread a sewing needle with three strands of red embroidery floss, accent the scarf with simple back stitching.
- Using Fabri-Tac attach the nose and scarf to the snowman, accent the snowman’s body with three vintage buttons.
- Thread a sewing needle with three strands of black embroidery floss, create the eyes and mouth by stitching french knots
- Paint a snowflake and chipboard alphas with gold paint, apply Elmer’s No Run School Glue on top of each piece of chipboard, generously apply Gold German Glass Glitter, tap off excess, let dry. Accent the center of the snowflake with a rhinestone.
- Cut a piece of vintage sheet music to approximately .5″ x 2″ trim the ends using scallop scissors.
- Using Fabri-Tac attach the vintage sheet music to the snowman’s body as shown. Attach the letters “JOY” on top of the vintage sheet music as shown. Accent the vintage sheet music ends with two self adhesive gold gems.
- Using wire cutters, cut the wooden base off of a 2.5″ bottle brush tree, attach a white seam binding bow at the base of the tree.
- Create the snowman’s arms by bending 24 gauge wire into shape.
- Attach the glittered snowflake and snowman as shown above.
- Attach the arms just under the felt using a strong liquid adhesive.
- Accent the hanger on your ornament by attaching a gold jingle bell to a piece of white seam binding then attaching it to the hanger.
- Type your sentiment “Let It Snow” onto a blank book page margin, cut out, ink with creamy brown ink, attach to the hanger.
There you have it… an adorable heirloom ornament to share each holiday season. Which by the way I certainly wish you all a very happy Holiday Season. We are getting so close to finishing up our calendar. I might share a peak of how mine looks with all the tags together… still trying to decide… I might just make you wait. And make sure you check back tomorrow as I am going to have the instructions on how I created this cute ornament. That snowman makes me so happy. Thanks Debby for asking me to participate in your 12 Days of Home for the Holidays.

Once dry tie a piece of green seam binding on top.
