Scribbly Bird Obsession
I have a huge obsession with Dina Wakley’s Scribbly Birds stamp set. I’ve collected glass birds since I was in the 2nd grade and have abandoned bird nests sitting in my studio window. So when I saw Dina’s stamps she got me instantly. My favorite way to use them at the moment is to simply stamp the bird images onto watercolor paper using Jet Black Archival Ink then simply color them in using Twinkling H2O’s and a Tim Holtz Water Brush. Super simple and no messy clean up.
Here is what my finished collage of painted birds looks like. I really like how the brown, gold and teal color combination looks together.
These are mini 2″ square pieces of watercolor paper that I stamped and painted. I think they look super cute and this size is perfect if you only a a few minutes of creative play. Each one literally took me under 10 min. from start to finish.
This one is 2″ x 3″ and still needs to have the background painted. I’m thinking it is going to be teal but I’m not quite sure. One thing I’m sure of is this week is going to be a week of Scribbly Birds. Dina Wakley my friend, you ROCK!
