All The Gals ~ Collage

All The Gals Collage

Here is a small 4″ x 6″ collage I created using one of the gals stamps from Dina Wakley’s new All The Gals stamp set and her new Media paint. First, if you have not tried her paints you are really missing out. These paints spread like butter and are heavy enough to create peaks and brushstrokes in your art. They are AMAZING.

To create this little art journal page I first covered the left side of the watercolor paper using pieces of a dress pattern and Multi Medium as my adhesive. Using Jet Black Archival Ink I stamped one of the All The Gals stamps onto the watercolor paper. Using watercolors, I painted the gals stamped image as well as all around the background of the stamped image.

Using a stencil and Dina’s Media paints I randomly applied paint over the stencil with my finger. Once the paint dried I placed the stencil back over the stenciled area and randomly applied a layer of Coffee Archival Ink.

Next, I cut a piece of vintage sheet music to create a shirt for the gal. I accented the shirt using black and white paint then secured a vintage flocked flower in place with washi tape. I painted scallops and dots around the edge of the page using black and white acrylic paint then accented some of the centers of the stenciled area with white acrylic paint dots. These are easy to do simply by using the end of your paintbrush.

To complete the page, I stamped the words onto a strip of watercolor paper using Jet Black Archival Ink and attached it to the page using a liquid adhesive then painted the strips with watercolor.

This was a fun page to create. I really like the bright colors, vintage paper and flocked flower combination.
