Ongoing Art Journal Class at The Crafty Scrapper
Saturday afternoon I had the pleasure of spending 4 hours with this lovely group of creative ladies. They inked, painted, stenciled and created beautiful collage pieces on their altered art journals. I find it so fun to give everyone the same supplies and products and in the end seeing how everyone’s projects turn out so differently.
I’m truly blessed to get to teach art classes in some of the most incredible places in the USA and abroad and to some of the most genuine down to earth people. There is not a class that I’ve taught that I haven’t thought of my 4th grade art teacher Mrs. Gibbs. She taught at Amelia Elementary in Beaumont, Texas. Mrs. Gibbs gave me the freedom to just create whatever I wished and I will love her forever for that gift. I think this is one reason I get so happy when people take a project I’m teaching and make it their own because I still remember sitting at my desk as a child creating and feeling how happy it made me. My hope for all who take a class from me is to sit, relax, create and have fun.
Since everyone had so much fun creating the outer covers for an altered art journal I have decided to create a new altered art journal page each month. Once Carolyn and I set a date for June I will let everyone know. If you did not take my class and would like a kit to create your outer covers I do have a few kits left over which are listed in my Etsy Shop.
