Altered Art Journal

In this Altered Art Jour­nal class you will cre­ate a beau­ti­ful altered art jour­nal using one of Wendy Vecchi’s new Stu­dio 490 Art Parts Art Jour­nal Cov­ers. You will alter the front of your art jour­nal cov­er using Wendy Vec­chi Stu­dio 490 Emboss­ing Paste and NEW Crack­le Tex­ture Paste, The Crafter’s Work­shop Sten­cils, Paint and more. The inside front and back cov­ers will be altered using Vin­tage Sheet Music, Inks and Per­fect Pearls Mist. I will show you how to make beau­ti­ful paper feath­ers to adorn the front of your art jour­nal as well as share tech­niques to be used on future projects.

Inside your altered art jour­nal are blank water­col­or pages for exper­i­ment­ing with inks, paints and doo­dling ~ Note­book pages for writ­ing down all your cre­ative ideas, tips and tech­niques ~ A clear pock­et to store found inspi­ra­tion from mag­a­zines or pho­tos and a trans­paren­cy sheet for stamp­ing to use as a guide before com­mit­ting to your actu­al project. For future altered art projects this kit also includes the fol­low­ing vin­tage ephemera from my per­son­al col­lec­tion ~ For­eign Lan­guage Book Pages, Children’s Book Pages, Ledger Paper, Sheet Music, Green Stamps & oth­er sim­i­lar stamps plus any­thing else I can dig up I think you’ll love.

For this class you will need to bring the fol­low­ing sup­plies and tools: Dia­mond & Plat­inum Stick­les, Water-sol­u­ble or Water Proof Pen­cils ~ Black & White, Glue Stick, Strong Clear Dry­ing Liq­uid Adhe­sive “I use Aleene’s Tacky Glue,” Paint­brush, Scis­sors, Paper Trim­mer, Heat Tool, Jet Black Archival Ink, Vin­tage Pho­to Dis­tress Ink

If this is not your pre­ferred col­or scheme please feel free to bring to class two dif­fer­ent col­ors of paint dab­bers and your pre­ferred Archival Ink col­ors & Adiron­dack Dye Ink. I will bring sten­cils to share but again if you have some that are your favorites please feel free to bring them. I want this altered art jour­nal to be a reflec­tion of you and your style.
