I’ve always told my daughters that THEY are the LUCKIEST women in the world because THEY were born in the USA and have EVERY opportunity to succeed in life with hard work and determination. The story of the abducted Nigerian girls is one that sadly proves my point. The way so many girls and woman are treated in other countries is heartbreaking.
Artist Jessica Sporn is putting together an auction to help raise money for a wonderful organization called Girl Rising. I am donating the mixed media canvas shown below to help raise money for this awesome cause. Girl Rising is a global campaign for girl’s education and their mission is to change the way the world values girls.
Please take a few minutes to visit the website and learn about Girl Rising. If we all work together I truly believe we can make a difference by breaking barriers such as early marriage, gender-based violence, domestic slavery and sex trafficking. This means not only a better life for girls, but a safer, healthier and more prosperous world for all.
I’m asking you all to please help me spread the word by sharing this blog post via your social media accounts. Make sure you include #BringBackOurGirls in all your posts. By working together we can make this auction a huge success.
The online auction begins May 15th at 7AM EDT and ends May 17th at 3PM EDT, I hope you will join me the other awesome artists Jessica Sporn, Linda Kittmer, Marjie Kemper, Judy Shea, Glenda Hoagland, Astrid Mclean, my friend Ronda Palazzari and others. There is going to be some amazing art up for bid.
