Something Fun to Entertain the Kids

Dec 4, 2013

When I was a little girl around the age of 3 or 4 my mom would go to an elderly lady’s house to do her hair. This lady had an awesome album filled with greeting cards she put together for little ones to flip through. I remember sitting on the floor looking at page after page in this album. I LOVED it so I thought of a fun idea for young kids during holiday gatherings.

Card

Find some old Christmas cards and if you are like me you have lots. I found this one that works perfectly for this type of project. You will want one that you can cut the face out of (snowman, gingerbread man, Santa, Elf, Reindeer even animals will work great).

Card 2

Using a craft knife cut out the face on your card just as I did in the photo above. I was really wishing I had some tinier photos for the two smaller gingerbread men but I didn’t… total bummer!

Card 3

Now using a photo that the head size is similar in size as the card, simply tape it to the back of the cutout. It’s as simple as that and how entertaining for kids to see themselves as Holiday characters. I think a simple photo album filled with cards altered with kids and adults would be very entertaining for the little ones during parties and family gatherings.

Card 4

This would also be a cute idea to use as gift tags. I think the recipient would find it most entertaining seeing themselves in character. If you create somethings with this idea I would love for you to share a photo or two with me. I think it would be a fun post to see how others interpret this concept. Have fun!
