Kids Week Day 4
We are still going strong from dawn to dusk and beyond. Our first craft today was creating a cupcake stand for Madelyn’s faux cupcake she made yesterday. We used Eileen Hull’s Cupcake Stand and Pennant Die she designed for Sizzix, some patterned paper, ink, pink acrylic paint and glitter paint. Once she finished the stand and sat her cupcake on top she realized this would be a cute table for her American Girl Doll. So this is a very multi-purpose stand in Madelyn’s eyes. So cute!
While waiting for the paint to dry on her cupcake stand Madelyn decorated a few pencils using washi tape. This is such a simple kids craft. I just gave her a few plain #2 pencils, some DoodleBug Design and Martha Stewart washi tape and let her go. She decided on a striped design so she could use every style washi tape I put out.
She also altered some wooden clothes pins using Maya Road fabric tape and resin flowers I had in my stash. She stamped words onto the fabric tape using Watermelon Adirondack ink but I could not take a photo of the finished pieces because there was some top secret stuff going on over on the craft table.
After she and Ansley got home from eating dinner (went to see big brother Brittain working at Norma’s Cafe) we were going to decorate jumbo marshmallows but then Ansley mentioned doing hair and make up and well, the marshmallow decorating idea got tossed to the side. It’s so sweet seeing how much Madelyn adores Ansley. Anything Ansley suggests Madelyn is ready to jump on board and do, even taking turns walking on the treadmill. I adore Ansley too but must admit… not that much.
