Keeper of Secrets & Dreams
The base for this altered box is Eileen Hull’s Box, Candy Drawer die. I tell ya I have a serious LOVE for Eileen’s dies and can pretty much pick her’s out without even looking at the name of the designer. After I cut the box out of mat board and assembled it I applied a thin layer of plaster all over the inner and outer areas of the drawer as well as the outer top, bottom and sides of the box. I really like the stability plaster gives to this box and when dry it resembles that of a ceramic box. Once completely dry I applied images around the box and sealed them in place with melted white bees wax pellets.
I accented this Keeper of Secrets & Dreams box with lots of different manufacturers… Petaloo (flower), Jenni Bowlin (button), Maya Road (rhinestone trim, tu-tu tulle), Tim Holtz (label pull) Ranger (diamond stickles, perfect pearls powders, adirondack metallic gold paint, white bees wax pellets) and Sizzix (Eileen Hull, Doily Lace Medallion die).
The box is attached to a vintage wooden spool on the bottom to give it some height. I just could not bring myself to trim off any of the tu-tu tulle attached around the bottom edge. I had to find something to give the box a little lift and the spool worked perfectly. I had so much fun creating my little Keeper of Secrets and Dreams box and have ideas to create lots more. The possibilities are truly endless.
