Get Acquainted All Occasion Card
col·lage ~ a technique of composing a work of art by pasting on a single surface various materials not normally associated with one another, as newspaper clippings, parts of photographs, theater tickets, and fragments of an envelope.
One of the reasons I love collage so much is I can assemble all the random vintage finds I discover in flea markets, thrift stores and antique shops to create one of a kind items like this card. A collage can be created as a one dimensional piece using all types of ephemera or three dimensional piece using found objects like buttons, milk caps, keys, millinery stems, etc..
This card is created using paper items, buttons, seam binding, twine and a milk cap that are all found in my Delight In The Art of Collage Kit 1 ~ Antiquated.
I accented the button centers by attaching different sized rhinestones with a clear drying adhesive. Then decided to accent the flowers on the book page with a little Diamond Stickles. This added just the right amount of sparkle to the card. The butterflies are punched from a Martha Stewart butterfly punch. Then to add a little pattern to the book page I decided to trim the edges using zig zag scissors.
