So many doors..

You never know when oppor­tu­nity will come knock­ing on your door. And I’m happy to say it came knock­ing on mine while I was attend­ing CHA. This oppor­tu­nity came com­pletely out of the blue and was totally unex­pected and cer­tainly not planned. For the past 10 days (rea­son for my lack of blog posts) I have cre­ated into the wee hours of the morn­ing, slept 4 or 5 hours, cre­ated all day, took a 2 hour nap, cre­ated into the wee hours of the morn­ing and started the process all over again. In the end I cre­ated 64 items and all but 13 were cho­sen. Cho­sen for what, you might ask… well I’m now a sig­na­ture designer for Blos­som Bucket and I’m thrilled beyond belief.  This is a new area for me since my items have not one thing to do with scrap­book­ing and it is just all so exciting.

I’ve wanted to break into the gift indus­try for a very long time and have had many a door closed but I never gave up. This does not mean I didn’t think about quit­ing, but when these thoughts would creep into my head I just pushed myself that much harder. Some­thing kept telling me, “Do not give up on your­self or on those who have been by your side encour­ag­ing you all the way.” So I kept push­ing and doing what felt right hop­ing with all those closed doors of the past one door in the future would open and open it did!

So what I have to say to all you aspir­ing artists… “Do not ever give up on your­self or your dreams.” No mat­ter how many doors close and believe me I have had many close, keep try­ing, when you’re about to give up try and push your­self that much harder. You never know when oppor­tu­nity will come knock­ing on YOUR door.

I can­not wait to see where this new jour­ney takes me.
