Year in Review ~ Perfect Pearls

Jan 6, 2012

In January Ranger asked me to participate in their Designer Challenge. They sent the frame and you had to alter it using the products they sent. Well the product was Perfect Pearls and Perfect Pearl Mist. I was a bit scared as I had not really played with Perfect Pearls before. I’d seen them demoed but that was it. So me being me I just jumped in and started going to town. They are really fun to use. My favorite way is to mix the Perfect Pearl Powders with the coordinating Perfect Pearl Mists.

2011 Designer Challenge for Ranger Ink

Altered Canvas Roses accented with Perfect Pearl Powders, Perfect Pearl Mists and Stickles. After I created each flower I then mixed together the PP Powder and Mists and painted the mixture onto the book page flowers. After the flowers were dry I accented the edges of each petal using Diamond and Platinum Stickles.

Paper Carnations and stamped Wendy Vecchi Butterflies

I accented the paper carnations and stems in the same manner as the roses above. The butterfly image was stamped onto the tag after being inked with a Perfect Medium Stamp Pad. They also have a Perfect Pens that I like to use on smaller areas. It is awesome. After I stamped the image onto the tag I lightly brushed Perfect Pearls over the stamped image, swirled the powder over the image and dusted off the excess powder. I then lightly misted the stamped image with water to set the powder.

A Bottle Full of Purple Posies.

I colored everything on this tag using Perfect Pearl Powders and Mists. I wanted the background to have a water droplet look so I inked Wendy Vecchi’s script stamp with Perfect Medium stamped it onto the background, poured UTEE on top then melted it using a heat gun… BAM, faux water droplets. I was so happy with the look.

Love Tag Tutorial

This is another tag where I incorporated UTEE and Perfect Pearls to create one unique tag. I still love Wendy Vecchi’s Doily stamp so much. I used it as a background for the flower and think it really helped the flower pop even more on the tag. Her background stamp is awesome too. I covered the entire top of the tag with UTEE, heated it to melting with the heat gun then placed her stamp onto the melted UTEE, let it cool and removed it… love the finished look.

So have you played with Perfect Pearls? It not, what are you waiting for… don’t miss out on all the fun.

Hugs!
