Maya Road Sneak Peek 5

Jan 24, 2012

My Love, Dream, Create, Soar banner is created using the new Maya Road Flag Banner. This banner comes with two binder rings, four scallop pages, four plain pages and measures 4.9″ x 6.2″. It’s the perfect size for altering. The top of each banner page is accented using the new Vintage Rhinestone Iridescent Diamond and Amber Trim. This Trim is amazing!!! It looks just like vintage rhinestone trim I would find in antique stores. Each plain page on this banners is stamped using the new Ornate Frames Clear Stamp Set. I was so happy to discover that the Antiquated Collection ladies and gents fit perfectly to scale in each frame. The look just like framed vintage portraits.

Love, Dream, Create, Soar are stamps from the Art Journaling Words Stamp Set. Each word is stamped onto canvas and stitched down the middle with a zigzag stitch.

A Wood Vintage Doily accents the center of each plain page that I painted with a Jenni Bowlin Fountain Pen Acrylic Paint Dabber and then accented with Gold UTEE.

To add pops of color to each banner page I attached a blossom from the Pumpkin Organza Mum Trim.

To complete each banner page I accented them using vintage finds I have collected from many a trip to flea markets and thrift stores. The metal ice cream spoons are my favorite. I like the contrast of the aged spoon next to the Vintage Trinket Antique Button Jewel. And the cream pearls accenting the top and bottom of the Wood Vintage Doily adds a softness to the black and gold color scheme as well do the vintage shell buttons. Pearls and buttons are the perfect accent for any project!

And if anyone reading this blog post is from Somerset Studio, I really would like to start writing articles for your magazine.

It’s hard to believe I will be on a plane headed to CA in just a few short days. Guess it’s time to start thinking about checking things off of my To Do list for the trip.

Hugs!
