Okay, now for today’s cute project. I’m just about finished with this little bird canvas I’ve been working on for another sweet friend I roomed with while in Mykonos. We still keep in touch and I’ll see her at CHA. Can’t wait! This canvas is a mini as it only measures 2.5″ x 3″. I painted the edges of the canvas black then once dry randomly painted scallops on top of the black and accented the center of each scallop with a black polka dot. I attached vintage ledger paper to the front of the canvas then using a charcoal pencil drew lines and circles around the inside edge and smudged them with my finger. I created the little feet using 24 gauge wire and attached them to the base of the bird using Fabri-Tac. Now, all I need is one little word to fill in the blank space on the front. Do you have any suggestions… I’m stumped!

And here are the felted pieces mom (dove) and dad (star) made while visiting at Christmas. I think mom might give this another try but dad, nope he’s done! It’s back to wood carving for him. Oh and you all are going to LOVE my mom… she is making yoyo’s for me to use as embellishments in future classes. Is mom awesome or what? She brought a BUNCH she made on their visit and I cannot wait to work them into some class projects. Nothing like a handmade yoyo… swoon.

Okay, that’s it for today… short and sweet… gotta get back to work. Have a wonderful weekend. I hope it’s filled with lots of creative fun, mine sure will be… I do believe Maya Road sneak peeks begin the middle of next week, cannot wait to share my projects!

Hugs!
