Stamped Muslin

Dec 16, 2011

Here is a wonderful way to create custom ribbon for any project or gift. All you need to do is tear strips of natural or bleached muslin about 1″ wide and as long as you desire. Then place the Lavender Salts stamp from my Antiquated  Collection ~ Perfumery Stamp Set ~ Pink Persimmon onto an acrylic block, ink the stamp with Coffee Archival Ink and stamp all along the length of the torn muslin strip. I alternated the top, middle and bottom areas of the stamp to create a collage look. Super simple and so pretty. This would look gorgeous tied around a gift wrapped in butcher block paper and accented with a sprig of pine, holly or mistletoe.

May Flaum posted a tutorial on her blog “Confessions of  a Chocoholic” showing you how she created two adorable tags that are perfect to attach to gifts this holiday season. She too used stamps from the Antiquated Collection ~ Perfumery Stamp Set. And May is even giving away a Stylish and Fashionable Stamp Set. So hop on over to her blog to check out the tutorial and make sure you leave a comment so you can be entered into her drawing.

If you are a subscriber to Pink Persimmon’s newsletter you already received this Season’s Greetings Miniature Wall Hanging PDF Tutorial  BUT those of you who are not here is the link for you! Pink Persimmon and I plan on including a PDF Tutorial every month so make sure you sign up for their newsletter HERE, you don’t miss out. This tutorial features the Antiquated Collection ~ Stylish and Fashionable Stamp Set.

And remember the UTEE pieces I showed you yesterday, well here they are altered with Rock Candy Crackle Paint and Distress Stickles, as well as Diamond and Gold Stickles. I accented the cracks on the Gingerbread Man using a Sepia Copic Marker. when I accented the snowflake I applied Diamond Stickles, let it dry, applied Rock Candy Distress Stickles on top of the dried Diamond Stickles, let it dry and followed up with a thin layer of Diamond Stickles. This created a beautiful frosted snow/ice effect.

Wishing you all a creative weekend. I have several projects to finish up this weekend, as well as start some baking. Can’t wait for Mom and Dad to arrive Christmas Day. I’m so excited.

Holiday Hugs!
