Vintage Christmas Home Decor

Nov 30, 2011

I love accenting our house with little pieces tucked here and there for the holidays. I feel it adds a bit of coziness to the house. This year, I decided to make something that was a bit more appealing to Ansley. She is not the traditional vintage colors of red, green and gold as I am. So I made something with a vintage pink, aqua and silver color scheme. It worked perfectly and Ansley loves it. Now, she is hoping since I created something with brighter colors maybe I can get past the vintagey old looking stuff all together, GASP… can you imagine… this will never happen and I think deep down inside she realizes this as well. I was thrilled when I discovered the label from the Crown Lavender Salts bottle in the...

Victorian Christmas

Nov 28, 2011

I love decorating the house for Christmas but must admit some years I decorate more than others. The one thing that is pretty consistent during every holiday season is my love for old fashioned ornaments. I have one 4′ tree that sits on top of a table and is decorated with all handmade paper ornaments that reminds me of an old Victorian Christmas. This year, I plan on adding a few additional ornaments to this tree that I feel will accent it beautifully. Although, to balance out the tree I’m going to have to create more of each ornament using different stamps from my Antiquated Collection stamp sets. I created this ornament using the Antiquated Collection ~ Fine and Dandy, Society Lady & Perfumery Stamp Sets by Pink Persimmon. The Scallop Frames and Hanging Chandelier...

Black Friday

Nov 25, 2011

I hope all of you had a wonderful Thanksgiving. Ansley went out with friends early this morning to do some Black Friday shopping. I on the other hand enjoyed a nice quiet evening and slept. I’m also hoping that what my friend Wendy says, “any pie eaten on a holiday has zero calories” is true. But, from the tightness of my jeans, today I think the pie might have been calorie free but what got me was the turkey, sweet potato casserole, mashed potatoes, stuffing and deviled eggs.  I’m going to have to visit my long lost friend Mr. Treadmill ASAP. I am so not looking forward to his visit. Ok on to the fun… All you local Scrappers, Stampers and Mixed Media Arts  The Crafty Scrapper is having a wonderful BLACK FRIDAY SALE… I’m happy...

Antiquated Collection and Studio 490…

Nov 24, 2011

Wendy did it again… I got this fabulous surprise in my inbox today just after getting a text telling me to check my email. I cannot even describe the feeling of what it feels like seeing my stamps used in projects but I can tell ya it is one awesome feeling. When the Antiquated Collection stamp sets were being put together never did I at the time think of how perfectly they would go with Wendy Vecchi’s Studio 490 Stamp Sets and Art Parts. But look for yourself… they work together perfectly. In this project, Wendy used the gentleman a.k.a. dapper dude from my Antiquated Collection Fine and Dandy stamp set. His robe is inked with the new Ranger Festive Berries Distress Ink. I’m so happy I just purchased this set while at The...

Ornamental Christmas PDF

Nov 23, 2011

Many of you asked if I planned to offer the “Christmas Wishes” and “Vintage Ornament Trio” classes I taught at The Crafty Scrapper as an online workshop. Well the answer is yes, but I did something a bit different this year. Instead of an online workshop where I post something each day like I usually do I (well let me clarify, Alan) created PDF’s for you to download. I took additional photos and added additional instructions to the PDF’s so it will make it easier to recreate the projects, since I’m not actually standing in front of you giving you all the instructions. Click the badge on the left to go to “Ornamental Christmas” on my “Workshops” page. The PDF downloads include step by step instructions, color photos, complete supply lists for both incorporated...

Nov 22, 2011

I try to stay pretty positive in life but there are times when the old monkey wrench gets thrown in and increases my anxiety levels just a tad bit. Today, started out being one of those days and then two wonderful things happened that made me realize just how fortunate I am to be blessed with wonderful friends and acquaintances. This morning, I get a text from my friend Wendy telling me to check my email… well I instantly do it because, well it’s from Wendy and she told me too… love her so much. Well my eyes nearly popped right out of my head! Look at what was attached to her email. I cannot tell you how incredibly excited I was to see the awesome project she created using my Antiquated Collection Dr. Warner’s...

What a journey…

Nov 21, 2011

Way back in 2005 never in my wildest dreams did I ever think I would end up where I am today. I have been blessed with guidance, encouragement, determination, a little bit of talent and endless support from family and friends. I am lucky and I know and appreciate it greatly. I try my best to give back and help those trying to break into this industry and feel a bit of my success is positive Karma coming back my way. So the next bit of fun that has come my way is working with these three wonderful ladies… Ronda Palazzari, Kristii Lockart and Karin Aguirre. They are members of my “Antiquated Collection” Design Team. Yes, I am now coordinating my very own Design Team. I know there is no way I can show the versatility of my...

A Very Heartfelt Thank You…

Nov 20, 2011

Some days you know you are standing exactly where you should. I say “some” days because there are others when I feel as if I’m beating my head up against the wall or slowly riding a bike up the steepest mountain in America and I’m asking myself why I stay in this industry. The answer– always– is that I love it so much. I understand that with success comes frustration. You just have to work your way through it and keep moving forward, even if moving forward means just one step a day you are still moving forward. So, with all that said, at this moment I feel I’m exactly where I should be standing. … because yesterday was one of those days. Filled with anticipation, excitement and fear. Lots and lots and lots...

The day has finally arrived. Please visit me during the LIVE online chat at A Cherry On Top as I debut my new stamp line “Antiquated Collection”. It is going to be lots of fun chatting with everyone AND I have giveaways … my new book Delight In The Seasons, an Antiquated Collection stamp set and a set of the New Maya Road Heart Tart Tin Bottlecaps. I thought I would share with you one of my favorite projects. I combined several different Antiquated Collection Stamp Sets, then used Archival Ink in Jet Black to stamp the image onto muslin, cut out each one using pinking shears, and stitched all the pieces together with my sewing machine set to a zigzag stitch using a cream colored thread. I then attached the sewn pieces and...

Antiquated Collection Sneak Peek #3

Nov 16, 2011

This gorgeous crown sits atop a beautiful item and was begging to be accented with ink, Diamond Stickles and of course a cream pearl. I stamped the image using Jet Black Archival Ink. I really love how this ink stamps. It gives a very nice crisp edge and since it is waterproof when Stickles is applied the ink will not bleed and ruin the stamped image. My other favorite color of Archival Ink is Coffee. It’s a gorgeous shade of brown. I will be using this color a lot on muslin combined with crocheted trims, burlap and cream felt. The look is amazing. I set up a Facebook Page for Antiquated Collection so click Like to keep up with what’s new with my stamp line. I do have other stamp sets in the works...

Weekend Classes and Another Sneak Peek

Nov 15, 2011

This past weekend I got to spend lots of creative time with an awesome group of creative woman. I love going down to The Crafty Scrapper to visit, chat, teach and just hang out. It is such a happy place to be. While teaching my classes I took a few photos here and there of how everyone created the same project yet they all looked different. This is one of the angel ornaments a student was working on. I love how she changed the crystal coarse glitter to an aqua glitter to match her holiday decor. This student altered her snowflakes and tin using another shade of aqua glitter mixed with the crystal coarse glitter. I really like how the two glitters mixed together look. It really does make me so happy when students...

A little birdie said…

Nov 14, 2011

There will be sneak peeks all week long of my new stamp line “Antiquated Collection by Lisa M. Pace”. I certainly thank Darcy and Judi with Pink Persimmon for helping me turn this dream into reality. When we chatted over the summer about the ideas I had for this line I told them I wanted very detailed stamps and my goodness they did not disappoint. Each stamp in my new line has such detail it makes me squeal in delight, just like I did as a little girl on Christmas morning. I created a Facebook page for “Antiquated Collection” where I will be posting projects, sneak peeks from other designers, upcoming info and giveaways, so make sure you click Like and Share the page with your friends. It’s going to be a fun week...

Snowman Mini Box and Album

Nov 11, 2011

This cute little guy can be found in the gallery in the back section of “Delight In The Details”. I just love him and had so much fun sculpting his face. My favorite part is his carrot nose. I also thought you might like to see what is inside the small altered box. It’s a cute teeny tiny, mini album I filled with snow photos of the girls from winters past. My little Mr. Winter looks so cute sitting on the shelf of my scraproom and I can honestly say, I have enjoyed looking at him every single day. This is one of my favorite projects I created for my book and wish Maya Road would bring this box back. Maybe if you bug Caroline enough for me she will. It never hurts to...

Halloween 2011 Completed Album

I accented the stems of the pumpkins using JBS Decorative Brads, MR Leaf Pins and Trim. It’s now ready to fill with cute Halloween photos of little trick -or-treaters and some journaling about their fun candy filled evening. Front Cover I added brown and white baker’s twine to the top of the smaller pumpkins and accented the edges of the JBS Alterable Letters – Micro Dots using Chicken Feed and brown ink. And of course I accented the top of each letter using Diamond Stickles. The 2011 are JBS Vintage Black Stickers. Pages 1 and 2 Pages 3 and 4 The numbers 3 and 4 on page three are from the JBS...
