Artistic Journey Recap…

What an awe­some week­end! I was so lucky to get to cre­ate with so many won­der­fully cre­ative and inspir­ing ladies. Weeks before the event began Car­o­line and Car­olyn put out a chal­lenge to those attend­ing Artis­tic Jour­ney to cre­ate a tag telling three things about them­selves. Once they fin­ished they then sent the tags to Car­olyn so she could cre­ate a won­der­ful win­dow dis­play. These are just a few of the tags sent.  I love how each one cap­tures their per­son­al­ity. Awe­some job ladies.

Fri­day night, dur­ing our meet and greet each attendee was given a can­vas apron to alter any way they wanted.… Car­olyn and Car­o­line had sta­tions set up all over The Crafty Scrap­per with lots of trims, embell­ish­ments etc. for them to use. It was so fun see­ing how dif­fer­ent everyone’s apron turned out. The one shown below is the apron my assis­tant, Dar­lene Mackey cre­ated. I think it turned out so pretty.

While the atten­dees were pick­ing and choos­ing items to alter their aprons, each teacher had a make n take sta­tion to cre­ate a lit­tle extra some­thing for them to attach to their apron. Mine was the red satin pleat and tulle flower with the antique jewel but­ton just under­neath the “d and a” on Darlene’s apron. I love lay­er­ing these two trims. You have got to give it a try. This combo cre­ates a gor­geous flower.

It truly was a BLAST get­ting to work with Car­olyn, Car­o­line, Dina Wak­ley and Shel­ley Hagan­man. We all stayed at Carolyn’s house so Fri­day and Sat­ur­day evening after the event we got lots of time to chat and laugh. I really do have the best arty friends one could ever hope to have. I am truly been blessed in this indus­try. The friends I have in this indus­try are true friends and it is awesome.

This col­lage is cre­ated from pho­tos I took dur­ing each of my three classes and when I had a chance to do a quick walk around the store. It was awe­some get­ting to spend the week­end with all you won­der­ful ladies. I hope you enjoyed my class as much as I enjoyed teach­ing it.
