Vintage Girl Birthday Card

Aug 17, 2011

Hi all!  It’s Darcy from Pink Persimmon again.  This week my sister, Judi, created this set of cards using our new Hello Vintage Girl stamp set and a sneak peek of some ATC patterns that we are releasing at the end of the month. (wink…you’re the first to see them!)

Judi had so much fun making these envelopes look just like a vintage pattern.  She even created a template to share with you today.  Download the envelope template at our website here.  It is sized to be similar to an A2 card, so it fits a standard 4.25“x5.5″ card inside.

Our Hello Vintage Girl set is really fun to use with paper piecing.  Stamp the outline of the girl on to the envelope or tag first, then stamp her onto another piece of white or ivory cardstock.  Judi then used our new ATC (Artist Trading Card) patterns to create the fabric patterns, stamping right on top of the dress image.  A bit of cutting, then piece the two together and you have an adorable dress in just the right color.

A little bit of coloring with Copics for her hair, skin and shoes and she is ready for a day out on the town (or on the phone!).  Judi did recommend that you do all your stamping and adhere your dress image before actually folding the envelope into it’s finished shape.  Much easier to stamp on a flat surface.

Judi stamped the Happy Birthday sentiment on top of the card insert and stamped the ruler image along the back of the envelope too.

Don’t forget that you can download the envelope template here.
