So proud of my friend…

Jun 14, 2011

One of the neatest raffles at Paper Cowgirl was the “Altered Velveeta Box” raffle. All the money raised for this raffle goes towards the Tina Wright Scholarship Fund. Tina was a friend of Cindy’s (Head Cowgirl) and sadly passed away from cancer. Nearly $300.00 dollars was raised for this fund and it is awesome that it helps keep Tina’s memory alive. Tina loved art and being creative so this scholarship helps keep her passion going through young people in her home town.

A trophy was given for the most money raised and ribbons were given out for the most votes. I am so proud of my friend Trisha. She won the trophy for most money raised AND got 4th place in most votes.

Trisha teaches really unique soldering classes at The Crafty Scrapper. Her “Altered Velveeta Box” was incredible.

I love how she did the mosaic using old plates and then soldered a branch that held a tiny nest filled with glittered eggs.

I think the metal roof is so cute and love the scalloped edge around the base. If you live in the area you really should try to take one of her classes if you want to learn to solder. They are a blast.

Hugs and Congrats my friend!

Lisa, loved taking your class — already thinking about making a Christmas version!
BTW, I found “parchment” acrylic paint at JoAnn in Frisco — went in looking for the color we used, “light mocha” and couldn’t find that but they had “parchment”!
