Quilted Memories

May 23, 2011

I’ll be teaching my “Quilted Memories” shadow box class Friday evening, June 3rd, at The Crafty Scrapper. The class will start at 5pm and costs $50. There is “LIMITED SPACE” available for this class so make sure you call the store (972.923.3151) and sign up now. After a day of shopping at GASC in Arlington, what better way to end the day than spending the evening at Carolyn’s fabulous store. Carolyn will have a crop going on one side, make n takes at the front and my class on the other side of the store. It’s going to be a FUN, FUN, FUN night!

My class will take 3–4 hours depending on your skill level. Each square of this Maya Road shadow box is filled with baubles and ephemera bits reminding us of those days gone by. I’m sharing with you pieces from my tattered antique family quilt, pieces of vintage ledger papers from the early 1900’s, adorable mini tart tins, vintage shell buttons, trims, lace and other miniature accents.

Please note: Since you will be creating with vintage items certain pieces will vary in color and shape but all will work perfectly with your project.

Students need to bring: Clearsnap Creamy Brown Ink, Platinum Stickles, Sewing Needle (medium sized eye), 11 — 2mm Cream Self Adhesive Pearls, Cream Embroidery Floss, Pinking Shears (needs to cut through a quilt), Scissors, Paintbrush, Fabri-Tac, Strong Liquid Adhesive (Aleene’s Quick Dry), Foam Squares

See ya there!
