I’m so excit­ed to be a part of this event again this year. So come share a week­end of fun, laugh­ter and learn­ing as it is going to be a blast.

When Is The Event Sched­uled And What Will You Get For The Price?

The Artis­tic Jour­ney will begin on Sep­tem­ber 30th (around 2 pm) and end on Octo­ber 3rd (around 3 pm), 2011 at the home of The Crafty Scrap­per in Wax­a­hachie, TX (approx­i­mate­ly 30 min­utes south of down­town Dal­las).

Cost of the Artis­tic Jour­ney 2011 is $275.00.

When Do Sign-Ups For The Event Start?

Sign-ups will be tak­en over the phone only by call­ing The Crafty Scrap­per start­ing on April 27th, 2011 at 10 am Cen­tral time. There are 80 slots avail­able. Spaces are avail­able on a first come, first serve basis. The phone num­ber to call is 972–923-3151.

Please have your cred­it card, address and email address ready at sign up. Please also let us know at sign up if you have food aller­gies. We will start a wait­ing list if there are more than 80 peo­ple inter­est­ed in attend­ing.

Do You Offer a Pay­ment Plan?

To keep things sim­ple, we will not be offer­ing a pay­ment plan this year.

What If I Need To Can­cel?

If for some rea­son you can­not make the event, you are wel­come to sell your tick­et. Please let us know the details of the sale ASAP so we can make sure they are on the list.

If we have a wait­ing list, we will try to find some­one to fill your spot. If we do find some­one, we will refund your mon­ey for the event. We can­not guar­an­tee a refund unless there is some­one who can fill your spot.
Who Are The Maya Road Teach­ers Com­ing To The Event?

We are pleased to have Dina Wake­ly, Lisa Pace and Shel­ley Hagan­man join us for this event. Each teacher brings a unique style and will show you how to trans­form Maya Road into your own Art­ful Mem­o­ries. Read on for the teacher bios to learn more about them!

What About The Projects?

Each of the Maya Road design­ers teach­ing will be shar­ing a very spe­cial project that they have cre­at­ed espe­cial­ly for this event. Each teacher will share some tips and ideas with you to make your own Art­ful Mem­o­ries with Maya Road prod­ucts a suc­cess! We will be shar­ing a peek at the projects dur­ing upcom­ing updates.

How Many Peo­ple Will Be In Each Class?

We decid­ed to keep this event small as we want­ed each per­son to get indi­vid­ual atten­tion from each of the teach­ers. Each of the class­es will have only 26–27 stu­dents. The class­es will be taught at either The Crafty Scrap­per crop areas or at a near­by loca­tion that you can walk to from the store.

What About Accom­mo­da­tions and Trav­el?

Atten­dees are respon­si­ble for their own trav­el arrange­ments to the event. If you are fly­ing, you can fly into the Dal­las Fort Worth Inter­na­tion­al Air­port (DFW) or Dal­la Love Field Air­port (DAL). Both are locat­ed about 45 min­utes from The Crafty Scrap­per.

We have made spe­cial arrange­ments with The LaQuin­ta Inns and Suites in Wax­a­hachie, TX. Rooms are only $69/night plus tax and includes free hot break­fast, wifi and more. Accom­da­tions are the respon­si­bil­i­ty of the atten­dees. You can book the hotel by call­ing them direct­ly and men­tion­ing you are with the Crafty Scrap­per AJ Event. This price is good through June 30th, 2011. The hotel is locat­ed about 3 miles from The Crafty Scrap­per.

* Octo­ber 1st 10:00 am to 1:00 pm — First class
* Octo­ber 1st 1:00 pm to 2:30 pm — Lunch
* Octo­ber 1st 2:30 pm to 5:30 pm — Sec­ond Class
* Octo­ber 1st 5:30 pm to 8:00 pm — Free time for din­ner or shop­ping
* Octo­ber 2nd 9:30 am to 12:30 pm — Third Class
* Octo­ber 2nd 12:30 pm to 2:00 pm — Lunch

I’m thrilled to be teach­ing along with Dina Wak­ley who lives in Glen­dale, AZ with her hus­band and three boys. She loves every­thing about scrap­book­ing! Dina also does visu­al jour­nal­ing and mixed-media art. Her style is messy and imper­fect and art­sy. She loves to trav­el to cool places, eat good food, and hang out with good friends.  Dina is a docent (tour guide) at the Phoenix Art Muse­um. Dina has been pub­lished in Som­er­set Stu­dios, Scrap­books, Etc and oth­er mag­a­zines. She teach­es mixed-media art through­out the world.

Shel­ley Hagan­man is a sin­gle mom of three chil­dren from Iowa City, Iowa. She is a part time Oper­at­ing Room Nurse at the Uni­ver­si­ty of Iowa Hos­pi­tal. She start­ed scrap­ping in 2002. She loves pho­tog­ra­phy, trav­el­ing, scrap­ping, and mak­ing projects. Shel­ley has been pub­lished in Som­mer­set Mem­o­ries and sev­er­alis­sues of Sim­ply Hand­made includ­ing spe­cial edi­tions. Shel­ley is on the Maya Road DT, The Scrap Review Team, The Sto­ry Mat­ters DT, Cre­ative Ther­a­py, and the Pink Trike Designs DT (dig­i­tal).

Each of the teach­ers will be bring­ing their own style of work and incor­po­rat­ing it into a 3 hour Jour­ney where you will learn new ways of work­ing with Maya Road prod­ucts along with oth­er prod­ucts.  They will share with you some tips and tricks to make your Artis­tic Jour­ney a suc­cess.  Peeks of the class­es will be post­ed about 1.5 to 2 months before the event.
