Altered Paper Mache Book

Feb 15, 2011

This altered piece uses all brand new CHA-W release products by Tim Holtz. I was so happy to see the Fractured Doll in my box of products to design with…. I love these dolls and you get two different sized dolls per package! Next to the white seam binding I attached one of his new Chain Tassels. These are the perfect accent for a project and I love the movement of the tassel. The patterned papers used are from his new Paper Stash – Crowded Attic line. This paper line is so pretty and has designs in it for all styles. The butterflies and moths behind the Fractured Doll and among the paper flowers inside the book are from Tim’s new Salvage Stickers – Crowded Attic. I really like the butterflies and moths images. They are super nice and the perfect size for my mini projects. I also like the business card Salvage Stickers I attached to the spine of the book. He has a great selection of those to pick from. I accented the edge of the spin using 2mm cream self adhesive pearls and applied crystal coarse glitter to the cones and page area. I wish you could see how this piece sparkles in the light. It is so pretty. The front cover of the book is covered in Rock Candy Distress Crackle Paint. Once dry I applied vintage photo Distress Ink on top working it into the cracks. Then I wiped off the excess ink with a paper towel. Perfect accent for an aged book.

Tomorrow’s post will be all about “artful couture”… this new die is super awesome!

    Dear Lisa

Just love how you’ve incorporated the frozen Charlotte into your work of art!!
You have two huge fans in South Africa and we’ve even used one of your projects from Delight in the Details as inspiration for a workshop we did for 90 ladies during January & February this year…

    Greetings
