Adirondack Acrylic Paint Dabbers

Feb 11, 2011

I bet you were expecting another tag using Perfect Pearls? Well this one features Ranger’s Adirondack Acrylic Paint Dabbers. When using paint I find it most inspiring to create whimsical pieces with brighter colors rather than my usual vintage style and shades. Kinda strange when I think about it. Also, did you notice I used my Canvas Album as inspiration for this tag? If you did, you are a very devoted blogger.

I always find it fun to use items around my scraproom to create designs… one of the simplest things to create are polka dots with the non-bristle end of my paintbrushes. All you do is dip the end of the brush into the lid of the paintbrush and start creating dots. Clean up is super simple too. All you have to do is swipe the end with a paper towel and you are good to go. I also like using lids to jars or the rim of a drinking glass to create circles. They always come out so perfectly imperfect. Oh and accenting painted polka dots with Diamond, Icicle and Crystal Stickles adds quite the sparkle. I let each layer dry before I add the next and once all three layers are dry you have awesome sparkley polka dots.
