Feels like winter…

Dec 12, 2010

Finally we are having some cold temperatures, once again. It has cooled down and warmed up so much this month. I’m ready for the cold weather to get here and stay. It is way too hard to get into the Christmas Spirit when it’s 70 something degrees outside.

This is the last week of my “All Things Winter” workshop. Today, I shared tips on distressing. I love the distressed look on projects and there are so many fun tools you can use that allow you to achieve different looks. My absolute favorite distressing tool hands down is the Tonic Studios Tim Holtz Paper Distresser, this little tool fits perfectly in my hand and is always an arms reach away.

This week I will show you how to recreate the layouts below. As you can see it will be a glitter week. If you are not a glitter person you can use Metallic Acrylic Paints, Metallic or Iridescent Maya Mists or Maya Road Metallic Inkpads. There are lots of ways to get some sparkle without using glitter. I think Stickles is a super great way of glittering if fine glitter is not for you.

I have some cute tutorials scheduled this week and I think you are going to want to make them… actually I am pretty sure you will.

I can’t wait to see the layouts – I don’t scrapbook much anymore but you can always use the same ideas for cards. Since reading your new book I have falling in love with glitter glue – I have all my stickles also but glitter glue is great also. I LOVE your book.
