Winter Magpie

If you are won­der­ing what this title means well it means loads of cre­ative fun as “Win­ter Mag­pie” is the name of the Decem­ber kit at Cocoa Daisy. I am so lucky as I got to play with this kit because I am their Decem­ber Guest Designer. When Chris­tine asked me I was thrilled. Then as she was telling me about all the won­der­ful prod­ucts she incor­po­rated in the kit I felt it was so ME and could not wait to start cre­at­ing. Her kits are always gor­geous and so inspiring.

Here are the projects I cre­ated using this kit… 2 lay­outs, a card and a gift card holder. I had prod­uct left over to cre­ate more items but these will be in my book (yes Cocoa Daisy is once again one of my book spon­sors) so you are going to have to wait a bit to see these.

This lay­out is of me and my brother Richard. Mom and I laugh every sin­gle time we see this photo. My expres­sion and arms being crossed just cracks me up.

That lit­tle photo was taken of me and my mom cel­e­brat­ing my 2nd birth­day. The party hat is cre­ated using a page from the My Mind’s Eye Party Glit­tered Chip­board Album that is included in the kit.

Here is the gift card holder I made using the remain­ing page from the chip­board album. I cre­ated it so that the recip­i­ent can use it as a keep­sake orna­ment year after year if they would like. I will have a tuto­r­ial on how I cre­ated it on my blog next week if you would like to make one.  Below is a close up of the snowflake rosette. I love how the mica looks on top of the snowflakes.

And here is a Christ­mas card I cre­ated. To cre­ate the tree I used a tree die by Sizzix. All I did was cut out three trees, sew them together up the mid­dle, fold each layer upwards, ink the edges, apply Plat­inum Stick­les to the edges and added a strip of self adhe­sive pearls.

And there ya have it … I told you “Win­ter Mag­pie” was full of cre­ative inspi­ra­tion. I would never kid about a thing like that. Don’t for­get about my give away.
