Copic Markers and Silk Flowers

Mar 17, 2010

These two make a wonderful combination. I picked up a bunch of cheap super pale yellow silk flowers at JoAnns several months ago. I figured I would use them for some project as their size was perfect. Well over the weekend while I was putting away, throwing out and organizing my scraproom I started thinking about dyeing them different colors but wanted a super fast and easy way. Well just then I had my copic markers in my hand and made a note to myself to give it a try once I was finished with my scraproom.

Supplies Used: Martha Stewart Crystal Coarse Glitter, Collage Pauge Instant Decoupage — Glossy, Copic Ciao Marker R22 — Light Prawn, Silk Flower, Paintbrush, Tweezers

All I did was color the entire flower using the Super Brush end of my Copic Marker. Brushed on some Instant Decoupage with a paintbrush then holding the stem of the flower with my tweezers I dipped the wet flower into the container of glitter, shook it around a bit to get it completely covered in glitter, tapped off the excess and let it dry. It is that easy and only took about 5 min. to make from start to finish.

Now you can have perfectly matched flowers for any of your projects. I hope you give this a try it is really fun.
